Video, music and others
By default the home screen does not show video, music and other features. These are hidden, to unlock these
options go to System > Appearance > Skin > Settings (2
nd
option, list) > Home window and uncheck the 'hide' options
in the list. From here you can install add-ons which are developed and supported by the community. These add-ons
are usually video-on-demand services or popular websites with video content.
Change Channel list
Go to System > TV > General and choose Channel manager and/or group manager to re-order your channel list, hide
channels and create or modify channel groups. Select a channel to change the settings on the right hand side of the
screen, press OK to move the channel. To apply the settings use the button on the right hand side of the screen.
Remote Control
Kodi also allows to be controlled remotely. By default the remote controls are enabled. By default the official Kodi
remote-app for smartphones (Kore on Android, official Kodi Remote on iOS) should be able to find the box whilst
scanning the network. If it cannot be found it might be required to enter the IP-address and port manually. Use the
settings button on the manual, browse to 'Utelisys Mediabox' and go to status. The IP-address will be on top. Use
port number 8080, username and password are both 'kodi'. Any device-name can be used.
Android
Introduction
The Utelisys mediabox is using Android as an operating system. Therefore apps can be installed from the play store
and run on the mediabox.
Apps
When you are signed in using a google account the play store will allow you to install apps. Sometimes it is required
to use a mouse and keyboard to control all the apps, mice and keyboards with a usb connector usually are supported.
Bluetooth keyboards and mice are not supported.
To sign in navigate to the 'My Apps' menu (figure 1) and go to the play store app. If you haven't signed in yet you can
sign in now using your credentials. The play store will show available apps. In case you don't have a mouse and
keyboard available you can also install apps by browsing the play store on a computer and install from there, choose
the device with 'no carrier'.
Upgrades
When upgrades are available, the box will prompt with the request to upgrade the box. During the upgrade process
the box will also restore the original settings and wipe any personal files to avoid conflicts between old and new
system files. Utelisys nor the building owner is responsible for any data-loss. To manually check for upgrades, open
the My Apps menu, go to upgrade and uncheck Automatic update and choose 'Manual update now'. A message will
popup when it's downloading a new version or if there's no new version available. During the update process, do not
shut down or remove the power supply.
Stand-by
When the box is not in use you can put the box in stand-by by pressing the red button on top of the remote or use
the black button on the front left of the box. The power indicator will turn red.
