This isometer (i.e. insulation monitoring device) is a safeguard for
people who work with a floating system, for example, a generator
or DC-AC inverter. The isometer will ensure there is automatic
switching off when there is a phase leak or neutral earthing. The
isometer, therefore, replaces the RCD, which may not be used
with a floating system. You can also read what the insulation
resistance is for the system from the isometer. Also see the
"Insulation resistance" section. As prescribed the isometer is
insensitive to any DC components in the current source.
The models ISO 230-16C and ISO 230-25C are
developed for the use in combination with a combi device (battery
charger and inverter all-in-one).

Important:
- The installation may only be carried out by qualified engineers.
- Only one isometer may be connected for each power system.
Before you start!
Before the isometer is installed, a check must be performed to
determine whether the power source is indeed a floating system.
Once the power source has been integrated, the following steps
can be taken:
Activate the current source and measure the outgoing voltage.
Measure the voltage of the phase (L1) and neutral (N) when
compared to the safety earthing. They must both be 115 V AC;
therefore, L1 with safety earthing = 115 V AC and N with safety
earthing = 115 V AC. If this is the case, it is a floating system and
the inverter housing may be earthed on the chassis. The isometer
can be installed.
➔ If there is no correspondence with the previous measurement:
If it is not a floating system, the measurement will supply the
following results: L1 with safety earthing = 230 V AC and N with
safety earthing = 0 VAC. In this case, the current source must be
