DTS-HD Master Audio
DTS-HD Master Audio is een audioformaat zonder kwaliteitsverlies dat is
ontwikkeld door Digital Theater System (DTS). Dit formaat biedt
mogelijkheden voor de ondersteuning van tot wel 8 audiokanalen met een
sampling-frequentie met een resolutie van 96 kHz/24 bit en tot wel 6
audiokanalen met een sampling-frequentie met een resolutie van 192
kHz/24 bit. Dit formaat is geheel compatibel met conventionele producten,
waaronder het gewone DTS digitale 5.1-kanaals surround signaal.
DTS Neo:6™ Surround
DTS Neo:6™ is een matrixdecoderingstechnologie voor het bereiken van
6.1-kanaals surroundweergave met 2-kanaals bronnen. Dit omvat "DTS
Neo:6 Cinema", geschikt voor het afspelen van films en "DTS Neo:6
Music", geschikt voor het afspelen van muziek.

ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec)
Dit is een codec voor de verliesloze audiocompressiemethode, ontwikkeld
door Apple Inc. Deze codec kan worden afgespeeld op iTunes, iPod of
iPhone. Gegevens die zijn gecomprimeerd tot ongeveer 60 – 70 % kunnen
worden gedecomprimeerd tot precies dezelfde originele gegevens.
FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec)
FLAC staat voor "Free Lossless Audio Codec" en is een free lossless
audiobestandsformaat. Lossless betekent dat de audio wordt
gecomprimeerd zonder kwaliteitsverlies.
