II. Mounting the wind-sun sensor
1. Pull open the lid of the USB charging port

2. Charge the sensor via the USB interface 6 for
1 hour at 5 V DC / 0.5 A (micro USB cable and
adapter not included).
3. Close the lid.
III. Mounting the wind-sun sensor
1. Push back the side panels 1. Select an instal-
lation location without pipes or cables behind
it. Mark the fastening holes and drill them.
2. Insert suitable plugs 5, and fix the sensor in
place with the screws 4. Reinstall the side
panels 1.
IV. Installation positions
The wind-sun sensor 3 can be installed in several
positions (see pictures), according to the install-
ing conditions. Install the sensor in a way, that
the solar panel gets sufficient daylight and with
the wind sensor fully exposed to the wind.

Electrical work and repairs must be
performed by a qualified electrician.
During installation, always observe the
national installation regulations.
The product must not be modified in
any way. Risk of electric shock and
accident.
The installation and repairing of the
product shall only be undertaken by the
manufacturer or his service agent or a
similar qualified person.
The sensor shall be disconnected from
its power source during cleaning, main-
tenance and when replacing parts.
Fixed controls have to be visible and
operable after installation.
Risk of injuries from falling parts!
Strong wind can damage the awning or
tear it out of its mounting. If the wind-
sun sensor fails to retract the awning in
case of strong wind, retract the awn-
ing manually and check the wind-sun
sensor. HORNBACH awnings withstand
a wind speed up to 37 km/h when
properly mounted and maintained. The
combination of wall type and mounting
material used at your installation site
might result in a lower wind resistance
class for your awning.
