The following provisions must be respected:
- do not abandon the load in a non-vertical position;
- do not swing/throw the load hung to another operator;
- do not move the load by pulling the balancer cable;
- do not hang loads that are not between the upper and lower limits of the admitted load-bearing capacity;
- do not hang more than one tool on the balancer.
The only risk linked to the use of the balancer consists in any uncontrolled rewinding of the
cable. This very dangerous event can be avoided by adhering to the following instructions:
- if in doubt regarding the correct functionality of the balancer, BEFORE any control, support the tool hung
to prevent it falling and DISCHARGE THE SPRING COMPLETELY;
If the spring is to be discharged completely for whatever reason, stop the discharge manoeuvre
as soon as the spring is effectively completely discharged (proceeding beyond this point will
damage the spring, which must then be replaced).
- if, for any reason, the cable is not rewound by the balancer, DO NOT intervene and call the after-sales
assistance immediately;
- never release the load if the cable is not completely wound in the drum;
- if the balancer cable is unwound with no load applied to it, DO NOT intervene of your own initiative but
contact the after-sales assistance service at once.

To allow the balancer to balance heavier loads within the load capacity accepted, use spanner (D) to turn
ATTENTION: TO REDUCE THE LOAD DO NOT USE THE SPANNER ON THE KNOB (6)! (forcing the knob
in the load reduction direction using the spanner can cause the retaining unit to break).
When the load has been adjusted, check that the entire length of the cable can run freely: the movement
must not be limited by the complete winding of the spring. Check the stroke several times at different speeds.
NOTE: a reduction in the balancer's capacity to support the load hung, can mean that the drum spring
is breaking. DO NOT MODIFY BALANCER ADJUSTMENT TO MAKE IT HOLD UP THE LOAD IN ALL
CASES BUT CONTACT SKILLED STAFF IN CHARGE OF MAINTENANCE AT ONCE.

Maintenance can only be performed by specialised and authorised staff.
the condition of the hooks and cable.
To check the cables, regarding rejection criteria (cable replacement), refer to ISO 4309:2011.
(See Fig.5 for some examples).
Only use TECNA S.p.A. original spare parts. To request spare parts, the Customer must contact the supplier
Do not modify the cable unit in any way; in particular DO NOT SHORTEN the cable: if necessary, contact
TECNA S.p.A.
- Check that cable movement is smooth and without abnormal noises;
- Do not remove any plates. Replace any deteriorated plates;
- The balancer must be inspected by specialised and authorised staff at least once a year.
