INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
ISTRUZIONI PER L'USO
Filter operation test
Before each use, check the welding mask filter as follows:
• Set shading to any value ranging between 9 and 13.
• Point the arc sensors of the mask to an incandescent light source at approximately 40W, and check that the interior screen guard
darkens.
• Remove the light source and check that the screen automatically goes back to the non-dark state.
Sensor sensitivity
Depending on the welding process and the ambient light, select the minimum amount of light required for the front sensors to
enable the protective screen guard as follows:
• Turn the knob to LO for high current welding in a bright welding environment or in an environment with other interference sources.
• Turn the knob to HI for low current welding or in a low light environment, especially in case of low current argon arc welding.
• Turn the knob half way for most indoor and outdoor welding operations.
Delay time
Depending on the welding process, set the amount of time required by the mask to switch back from full dark to full light.
The delay time ranges from 0.1s to 1.0s. Set the delay time as follows:
• Turn the delay time adjusting knob to MIN (which corresponds to a delay time of approximately 0.1-0.25s). Such delay time is
suitable for spot welding, short welding or seam welding.
• Turn the delay time adjusting knob to MAX (which corresponds to a delay time of approximately 0.85-1.0s). Such delay time is
suitable for high current welding or preventing eye fatigue from electric arcs or close viewing of incandescent pieces.
• The delay time adjusting knob set to the medium value is suitable for most indoor or outdoor welding jobs.
Grinding
To carry out cutting or grinding jobs, set the exterior shade adjusting knob to "GRIND".
