Meter (OVEN)
This shows the operation status (heater output) of the oven in
the OCXO. When the power is turned on, movement of the
meter needle will be unstable. After about two minutes, how-
ever, it will stop between 0 and 6, allowing you to confirm that
the temperature has become stable. (The position at which the
needle stops will vary according to the ambient temperature
where the unit is located.)
o Even after two minutes have passed, operation to further
increase stability will occur following temperature changes
inside the oven. For this reason, we recommend allowing it
to warm up for about ten minutes before actually using it.

The master clock that provides the reference for this unit con-
tains an oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO). This OCXO,
which actually has both a crystal oscillator and an electronic
oscillator inside a compact oven, achieves extremely high fre-
quency stability.
