Troubleshooting
Trouble or fault
Power tool does not start.
The power tool does not de-
velop full power.
No suction or reduced suc-
tion.
Sanding disc does not adhere
to backing pad.
Electrostatic discharge.

Disposal
Most of the materials from which Hilti tools and appliances are manufactured can be recycled. The
materials must be correctly separated before they can be recycled. In many countries, your old tools,
machines or appliances can be returned to Hilti for recycling. Ask Hilti Service or your Hilti representative
for further information.
▶ Do not dispose of power tools, electronic equipment or batteries as household waste!

Possible cause
Interruption in the electric supply
The supply cord or plug is defec-
tive.
Electronic fault
The extension cord conductor
cross section (gauge) is inade-
quate.
Wrong speed.
Sanding disc incorrectly
positioned.
The dust bag is full.
Dust removal connector clogged.
Foreign matter on backing pad.
Velcro of the backing pad is worn.
Vacuum cleaner without anti-static
equipment.
Interruption of the ground conduc-
tor.

Action to be taken
▶ Plug in another electric tool or
appliance and check whether it
works.
▶ Have the parts checked by a
trained electrical specialist and
replaced if necessary.
▶ Have checked, and if necessary
replaced, by a trained electrical
specialist.
▶ Use an extension cord with
an adequate conductor cross
section.
▶ Turn the speed regulator to a
speed between 1 (low) and 6
(high).
▶ Remove the sanding disc and
reposition it correctly, with the
openings aligned with the dust-
extraction holes in the backing
pad.
▶ Dispose of the old dust bag and
insert a new dust bag.
▶ Remove the dust box and clear
the suction channel.
▶ Clean the backing pad.
▶ Replace the backing pad.
▶ To prevent electrostatic effects,
use an anti-static vacuum
extractor.
▶ Check the ground conductor.
