Clean it with a brush and then preserve them with a spray lubricant. Excess lubricant should be wiped off . If you notice any dam-
age or dulling of the blades, replace them at an authorised service centre.
It is forbidden to use shears with damaged blades.
Ensure that the blades are always lubricated. This will prevent the appearance of rust, which reduces the performance of the tool
and can also increase the risk of injury. The clearance between the blades should be between 0.2 and 0.4 mm, measured at the
point where the blades are bolted together.
The blades are sharpened at the factory to achieve optimum performance, but become dull as a result of use. The condition of the
blades should be assessed before starting any work. If rounding of the upper edge of the blades is discovered or if the roundness
of the lower part of the blade disappears, the blades must be sharpened (XI). The sharpening must be done at an authorised
manufacturer service centre.
Before storing the trimmer for an extended period of time, the blades should be sprayed with a preservative or spread over the
blades with a brush. Excess preservative should not be removed until immediately before work. This maintenance will reduce the
risk of the blades rusting.
Clean the tool's housing with a soft, dry cloth. Clean the housing from residues of wood, oil, grease, and other contaminants. The
tool should be stored in a dry, closed room, disconnected from the mains.
Store the tool in shaded and dry places with appropriate ventilation preventing steam condensation. Such place should not be
accessible to unauthorised persons, especially children. During storage, the blades should always be protected with a cover.
