PRIOR TO FIRST USE

Unroll the cord fully before use.
•
To rinse out the inside, fill the
reservoir with water, switch on and
allow the water to run through the
appliance, before using it to make
coffee.
USING THE APPARATUS
1. Open the cover for the water reservoir
and carefully pour the required
amount of water into the water
reservoir.
o Do not fill over the top mark on the
level gauge.
2. Place the filter basket (pis. note, that
filter basket is only included for some
of our models) or paper filter in the
filter funnel.
3. Ensure that the cover for the glass
pot is down and then place the pot on
the hotplate beneath the filter funnel.
4. Switch on the appliance by switching
the on/off button. The indicator light (if
the appliance has one) will now come
and the appliance will start.
o Always make sure the lid on the
glass pot is closed, otherwise the
anti-drip device does not work cor-
rectly.
5. Once the coffee is ready, the hotplate
under the glass pot will keep it hot.
6. Switch off by pushing the on/off
button again.
o The appliance is fitted with an
overheating cut-out which au-
tomatically switches it off if you
forget.

CLEANING
When cleaning the appliance, you should
pay attention to the following points:
•
Remove plug from the mains socket,
and allow the appliance to cool down
before cleaning it.
•
Do not immerse the appliance in
water and make sure no water enters
the appliance.
•
Clean the appliance by wiping it with
a damp cloth. A little detergent can
be added if the appliance is heavily
soiled.
•
Never use a scouring pad or any
form of strong solvents or abrasive
cleaning agents to clean the
appliance, as those may damage the
outside surfaces of the appliance.
•
The filter funnel and the glass pot
can be washed by hand or in a
dishwasher.
•
IMPORTANT! Allow to dry fully after
cleaning before using again. Do not
use the appliance if damp.
DESCALING
The lime content of ordinary tap wa-
ter means limescale may gradually be
deposited inside. This limescale may be
loosened using acetic acid (NOT ordinary
vinegar) or descaler, available in super-
markets, etc.
1. Mix 100 ml acetic acid with 300 ml
cold water, or follow the instructions
on the descaler packaging.
