Operation
10.1
Operation and thermoregulation
Since the production of hot water inside the boiler is carried out by means
of two devices (air/water Heat Pump and electric immersion heater ), the
controller uses two probes for water (T2 and T3) and one for air (T1) to
manage the start of one device or the other in relation to:
water temperature inside the boiler
(target setpoint)
triggering differential on water
ambient temperature
The water temperature in the boiler detected by T2 sensor is mainly used
to control the heat pump (with the integration of the electric immersion
heater if needed). The heat pump operates (with the integration of the
electric immersion heater if needed) until the temperature detected by
T2 probe reaches the setpoint for the heat pump (set value of parameter
0).
The water temperature in the boiler detected by the upper T3 sensor is
only for the electric immersion heater . When only the electric immersion
heater is operating, it heats the water until the temperature detected by
T3 sensor reaches the electric immersion heater switch-off temperature
(set value of parameter 2).
In case of malfunction of one of the two sensors, a relevant error message
will be displayed and the other sensor will be used to control both the
heat pump and the electric immersion heater .
The electric immersion heater is already cabled to OUT 2 terminals
inside the unit and equipped with a safety thermostat with manual reset.

10.2.1 Stand-by
Press the [ON/OFF] key
on the screen for 3 seconds, then the machine will switch to stand-by
mode. In this mode the machine does not perform any thermoregulating
function; alarm signals remain active. In this state, the display shows:
the water temperature (WATER OUT) and the setpoint temperature (SET
TEMP), the operating mode, timer activation and time. From this mode it
is possible to navigate the menu through the buttons
modify the various parameters controlling the machine (see the following
instructions on parameter display and setting). From this mode, press
the [ELECTRIC IMMERSION HEATER ] key
heating with the electric immersion heater only.
10.2.2 Heat pump operation
From the Stand-by mode, press the [ON/OFF] key for the unit to enter
Heat Pump operation mode.
The display shows: the water temperature (WATER OUT) and the
setpoint temperature (SET TEMP), as well as the timer setting, time
and operating mode. From this mode it is possible to navigate the menu
through the buttons
or
following instructions on parameter display and setting).
If the external air temperature detected by T1 probe falls within the
minimum and maximum values of the external air temperature (see the
values in the data table), the domestic hot water is produced by means
of the Heat pump. In this case, if T2 probe detects a water temperature
lower than/equal to [value of parameter 0]-[value of parameter 1] the
Heat Pump start-up is enabled. Similarly, when T2 probe detects that the
Setpoint has been reached (set value of parameter 0), the Heat Pump
will be switched off and wait for an activation request. The Heat Pump
restarts when the water temperature goes below [value of parameter 0]-[
value of parameter 1].
Caution: Heat pump switch-on operations must be carried
out observing the safety times between the enabling and
the start of unit operation, which depend on the
thermodynamic environmental conditions and on the machine.
Integration with Electric immersion heater
During the Heat Pump operation mode, the Electric immersion heater
can work as an integration of the heat pump to heat the water up to the
setpoint temperature (set value of parameter 0) or to protect the heat
pump. In particular, this happens in the following cases:
MANUAL BOOST: during the Heat Pump operation, press the
[ELECTRIC IMMERSION HEATER ] key
the Electric immersion heater , which will operate according to the
following control program:
If the upper temperature (OUT) of water T3 is ≤ electric immersion
