The sensing head Polytron C300 consists of an
electrochemical diffusion sensor and signal processing
electronics. The sensing head works like a "nose". The
sensing head only transmits the concentration measured at the

sensor. The measuring unit ppm (parts per million) is a volume
concentration. The sensing head is connected to suitable
control unit over a four wire cable. The measuring signal during
normal operation is between 0 V and 10 V.

The sensing head is used for the stationary continuous
monitoring of ammonia concentrations in the ambient air under
atmospheric conditions.

CAUTION
The operation of the sensing head is tested prior to delivery
but a functional test must still be carried out after installation

(see Chapter 6.4 on Page 18).

For optimum measurements the sensing head should be
installed at the centre of the area to be monitored. The sensing
head must be installed out of reach of animals, accessible for
