and short circuits has been acti-
vated.

too low.
The dimming profile is incorrect.
There is a PLC malfunction.
The lamp is not suitable.
The dimmer is defective.
The lamp cannot be switched off.
There is leakage current due to
certain dimmable LED lamps or
dimmable economy lamps with
a low electrical load. Leakage
current can also occur due to
capacitive effects of long cabling.
5. USAGE WARNINGS
- PLC signals that are sent via the mains can interfere with the operation of the dimmer. (This is not a defect.)
- The dimmer is never electrically separated from the mains due to the operation of the control. In other words,
all parts remain connected to the power even if the load (e.g., the light) is "off".
- This appliance is not suitable for controlling motors.

Check if the lamp is dimmable.
This is shown on the packaging
by the following symbol:
Check whether the load is too
high. When doing this, keep in
mind the reactive power of ferro-
magnetic transformers.
Check the temperature in the ca-
binet (max 35°C) or create more
distance between the dimmer
and the adjoining module.
Check whether mixed loads have
been used, and make sure that
only one type of lamp load is in
the lighting circuit.
For dimmable LED lamps: test
all lamp profiles one by one and
choose the profile that works
best. Dimmable LED lamps that
require a boost function (do not
start up at minimum dimming)
can be controlled with lamp
profiles LED 3, LED 4, LED 7, or
LED 8.
For incandescent lamps and
halogen lamps with electronic
transformers, choose lamp profile
LED 1.
For halogen lamps with ferromag-
netic transformers, choose lamp
profile LED 2.
For dimmable economy lamps,
choose a lamp profile with boost
function: LED 3 or LED 4.
Check if the lamp is dimmable.
This is shown on the packaging
by the following symbol:
Lower the minimum dimming
level or use a profile with boost
function (LED 3, LED 4, LED 7 or
LED 8).
Choose another profile and adjust
the minimum dimming level.
Refer to the FAQ on dimming at
www.niko.eu/faq
Replace the lamp if it flashes
during dimming the light up and
down.
Replace the dimmer
Fit another lamp with a higher
minimum electrical load. Or fit a
LED compensator (09-016-10 or
310-0500x) over the lamp, bet-
ween the switching wire and the
neutral conductor.

Ambient temperature (°C)
If modular dimmers are fitted near to one another in the electrical cabinet, you can only connect 80% of the
maximum permissible power. A minimal distance of 20 mm is required in order to utilise the full, maximum power.
Also think about ensuring sufficient ventilation in the electrical cabinet. They are often closed-off cabinets, whereby
the internal temperature can increase and the power graph above is applicable.
Warnings regarding installation
The installation of products that will permanently be part of the electrical installation and which include dangerous
voltages, should be carried out by a qualified installer and in accordance with the applicable regulations. This
user manual must be presented to the user. It should be included in the electrical installation file and it should be
passed on to any new owners. Additional copies are available on the Niko website or via Niko customer services.
CE marking
This product complies with all of the relevant European guidelines and regulations. For radio equipment Niko llc
declares that the radio equipment in this manual conforms with the 2014/53/EU directive. The full text of the EU
declaration of conformity is available at www.niko.eu under the product reference, if applicable.
Environment
This product and/or the batteries provided cannot be disposed of in non-recyclable waste. Take your discarded
product to a recognised collection point. Just like producers and importers, you too play an important role in
the promotion of sorting, recycling and reuse of discarded electrical and electronic equipment. To finance the
rubbish collection and waste treatment, the government levies recycling charges in certain cases (included in
the price of this product).
