BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE THE FIRST TIME
1.
Remove all packaging materials and any transport guards and stickers (not
the type plate or the serial number!). Keep the packaging material away
from children. Choke hazard! Dispose of the packaging material according
to the applicable statutory waste disposal regulations.
2.
Inspect the appliance for damage. If there is visible damage, do not operate
the appliance; instead, contact our customer service department.
3.
Clean all parts with a damp cloth, as described in the chapter "Cleaning
and care".
4.
Check to make sure that the appliance is stable.
5.
Connect the base via the power cord to the power supply (220–240 V~,
50–60 Hz).
6.
Remove the kettle from the base and open the lid.
7.
Add clear, cold water to the "Max" marking.
8.
Close the lid by pressing lightly.
9.
Place the kettle on the base.
10. Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/OFF button. The control lamp at the
bottom of the handle will turn on.
11. When the water boils, the appliance automatically shuts off and the indicator
lamp goes out.
12. For hygienic reasons, please discard the water from the first boiling.
OPERATION
1.
Remove the kettle from the base and open the lid.
2.
Fill the kettle with at least 0.5 liters of water ("Min" marking). Do not fill
the kettle with more than 1.5 liters of water ("Max" marking).
3.
Close the lid by pressing lightly until it locks into place. The locking
mechanism prevents the lid from opening accidentally when pouring water.
4.
Place the kettle upright on the base.
5.
Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/OFF button. The control lamp at the
bottom of the handle will turn on.
6.
When the water boils, the appliance automatically shuts off.
7.
To make the water stop boiling earlier, press the switch upward.
8.
Caution: The automatic shut-off function works only if the lid is properly
closed.
