Important Information
Proper Use
The TFS-Dialog 400 is designed to create call connections to the telephone. It
also has a range of different switching functions (door opener etc.).
The device is compatible with all Auerswald/FONtevo PBXs with connectors for
DTMF-enabled telephones. It is also possible to connect it to PBXs from other
manufacturers, but you should check this in advance.
Safety Information
To ensure that you are able to use the device safely and without faults, comply
with the notes below. Improper use may, for example, cause functional
restrictions, destruction of the device or, in a worst case scenario, personal
injury. You will find any necessary additional warning notices about using the
device in the relevant sections.
Read the instructions for the device and keep them for future reference.
When connecting the device to your PBX, also note the safety information in
the manual for your PBX.
When connecting an a/b switching module, please also refer to the safety
information and technical data in the a/b switching module instruction manual.
Connecting Safely
Fire hazard due to incorrect bell transformers. Only use approved intrinsically
safe bell transformers in accordance with the standards DIN EN 61558-2-8 or
VDE 0570 T2-8 with a maximum rated power of 100 W/VA for the power
supply.
Connect the device as described in these Instructions. Take note of the
technical data on the type plate and in these Instructions.
Risk of electric shock. Disconnect the connections to the telephone port on the
PBX and to the door bell transformer before you open the device and carry out
any work on it.
Ensure the seal is correctly placed in the lower shell to prevent liquid from
penetrating the casing.
Risk of electric shock during thunderstorms. Always have a qualified electrician
install the cables inside the building. Do not open or mount the device during
an electrical storm.
Only use original accessories and original replacement parts.
Ensure that any tools you use on live cables are sufficiently insulated.
Never connect the device directly to an exchange line connection (public
network provider connection).
