Intended use
The product is connected to the radio remote control receiver of a model vehicle and acts as a continuous
speed-regulator for the electric motor (forwards/reverse), see section "Technical Data".
This product complies with the applicable national and European specifications. All company names and
product names are trademarks of the respective owners. All rights reserved.

Safety Notices
The guarantee/warranty will be void if damage is incurred resulting from non-
compliance with the operating instructions. We will not assume any responsibility
for consequential damage!
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by
improper use or failure to observe the safety instructions! In such cases the
warranty/guarantee is voided.
• The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is prohibited for safety and approval
reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children!
• The product must not become damp or wet.
• Do not short-out the connecting cable, as this would damage the speed controller. The same is true for
overload (e.g. through the use of an inappropriate motor) or by incorrect polarity. Never attach a Schottky
diode. Only use an electric motor with interference suppression. Connect only one single electric motor
to the speed controller.
• Unclamp the battery from the speed controller if you do not use the latter. The speed controller can be
temporarily switched off using the on/off switch.
• Always turn on the transmitter first before connecting the speed controller with the battery and switching
it on. Before turning off the transmitter again, turn off the speed controller and, if necessary, disconnect
it from the battery.
• The speed controller is designed for NiMH/NiCd batteries (6-8 cells). It is also principally suitable for 2-
cell LiPo-battery packs, but does not include a safety shutdown for low voltage. In the event that a LiPo-
battery pack is operated with the speed controller, the LiPo-battery pack will be damaged by a total
discharge!
• The cooling system can become very hot during operation, danger of burning!
• Handle the product with care. It can be damaged through impact, blows or when dropped even from a
low height.
• Do not leave packaging material unattended. It may become a dangerous toy for children.

Installation
Install the speed controller with double-sided adhesive tape (or velcro), as far from the receiver as possible.
The power cable to the engine and to the battery as well as the thin control cables must be installed far from
the aerial cable as well (the aerial cable should run directly from the receiver to the aerial fitting). Otherwise
this can lead to malfunction of the model or a shorter radio range.
Never use the speed controller without heat sink. Check there is sufficient cooling for the speed controller!
The cables must not get into moving parts, secure them with cable fasteners. The cooling fins must not be
covered.

Connection
• Connect the two engine connection cables to your engine. If the rotational direction of the engine is no
longer correct at a later point of time or if the braking function is active for reverse driving, exchange the
two cables and adjust the servo reverse on the remote control.
• Connect the three-pole plug to your receiver. Make sure the assignment on the receiver is correct (see
operating instructions of the receiver as well as the information on the receiver).

Brown/black cable:
Minus/GND
• As the speed controller is equipped with a BEC, no receiver battery or rechargeable battery must be
used! The receiver is powered by the vehicle battery directly through the speed controller.
• Install the On/Off switch of the speed controller in the car; put the switch in the "OFF" position.

• The switch on the control unit must be set to the "OFF" position.
• Insert the battery pack into the vehicle and connect it to the speed controller.
• Move the throttle and the corresponding trimmer to the neutral position on the remote control. Let go of
• Set the switch of the speed controller to the "ON" position.

A fan with installation material is available as an accessory (not
included) to additionally cool off the heat sink and thus the speed
controller in case of higher load (e.g. for trucks with large wheels
or heavy vehicles).
The fan is attached to the heat sink with two screws and two
plastics spacers, see figure to the right.
Observe correct fan alignment (air must be blown in the direction
of the heat sink).
Connect the fan cable to the two-pole fan terminal; observe the
correct polarity (red wire = positive, black wire = negative).

• First switch off the speed controller (put switch in the "OFF" position).
• Separate the battery from the speed controller.
• Switch off the transmitter.

Operating the Vehicle
throttle lever in the neutral position.
Caution!
Place the model vehicle so that the drive wheels do not touch the ground or any objects.
Do not touch the drive mechanism and do not block it! Risk of injury! Once the speed
controller is switched on, the drive can be started immediately via the position of the throttle
lever or the trim regulator on the transmitter, the wheels start immediately.
the throttle lever and do not move it.
saved.
If the LED flashes, the throttle lever must not be moved or the speed controller will not be
able to recognise the neutral position.
Please note:
When switching between forwards and reverse driving, the throttle must be put into the
neutral position briefly (approx. 2 seconds).
If the throttle is moved directly from forwards to reverse, the brake of the speed controller
is activated (vehicle does NOT reverse!)
