9. Operation
a) Inserting/changing the battery
Before using the metal detector for the first time, follow the steps below to insert the battery:
• To insert the battery, remove the cover from the battery compartment on the bottom of the control unit (6). To
remove the cover, push the latch in the direction of the "OPEN" arrow.
• Remove the cover from the battery compartment.
• Connect the pin connector to the poles of a 9 V block battery (not included). Ensure that the battery is connected
in the correct polarity (observe the positive/+ and negative/- markings).
• Insert the battery back into the battery compartment.
• Ensure that the wires on the pin connector are stowed securely. Do not allow them to become caught or damaged!
• Slide the battery compartment cover back into place and ensure that the locking mechanism clicks into place.
To replace the battery, remove the old battery and follow the steps above.
• The battery life with a high-quality, fully charged alkaline battery is approximately 24 hours.
• Replace the battery when the LED battery indicator (11) turns on.
