PRODUCT INFORMATION
Automatic frost protection cable to prevent
freezing in metal pipelines with diameters of
up to 38 mm.
PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
Additional requirements:
• Infeed point with earth
• PVC insulation strip
• Electrotechnical devices (side cutters, wire
stripper, screwdriver)
SELECTING THE CABLE AND INSULATION
• Measure the length and diameter of the
pipe.
• Select the cable which is most suitable for
the type of pipe. The cable must not be more
than 600 mm shorter, and no longer than
the pipe. It is possible to use two cables
over a length of pipe, which may overlap by
600 mm, provided that they are installed
from opposite ends of the pipe.
INSTALLATION
1 . PREPARING THE PIPE
Ensure that the area on and round the pipe
is exposed, and that there are no sharp
edges or combustible materials before
installing the heating cable. This will mini-
mise the risk of damage to the cable and
adjoining areas.
2. PREPARING THE POWER SUPPLY
Ensure that a properly earthed electrical
power socket is available so that the heating
cable can be connected to this. Form a "drip
loop" in the power supply cable in order to
prevent any condensation on the cable from
entering the power socket. In the event that
an extension cable is required, only use a
cable with the correct format which has been
properly earthed in accordance with applica-
ble standards.
