a) Measuring AC and DC voltage
In no event exceed the max. permitted input values, neither do it
when measuring superposed direct voltages (e.g. ripple voltages).
Proceed as follows to measure dc voltages:
- Switch on the power unit on the operating switch (3).
- Select DMM mode with the MODE button.
- Connect the black measuring line with the COM socket and
the red measuring line with the VΩ-socket till they
are plane at the measuring instrument.
- Set the rotary selection switch (3) to position „V". The dis-
play shows „DC" VOLTAGE".
- Now connect the two test prods with the object to be mea-
sured (battery, circuit etc.).
- In the display (1), the polarity of the measuring value concer-
ned will be indicated together with the current measuring
value.
- Automatic range selection is activated as default value.

): Manual range selection - increasing the measuring range. The set
F4 (RANGE
): Manual range selection - decreasing the measuring range.
The voltage range „V DC/AC" shows an input resistance of approx. 10MOhm. As
soon as a minus „-" appears for direct voltage in front of the measured value, the
measured voltage is negative (or the measuring leads have been mixed up).
b) Resistance measuring/diode test/continuity test
Make sure that all the circuit parts, switches and components as
well as other objects to be measured are disconnected from the
voltage source at all times.
Switching from direct current measuring (DC) to alternate current
measuring (AC)
Relative measuring function – The measuring value is set to 0.000
after pressing the button; now only the relative value to the pre-
vious measuring value is displayed. Press F2 again to deactivate
the relative function.
measuring range is indicated on the display. Press AUTO to reac-
tivate the automatic range selection.
