3. Fit 2-core cable set and fuse holder
a) Vehicles with 12V socket in boot:
Route red cable from trailer turn signal monitoring to 12V socket at left side of boot.
Disconnect vehicle-fitted 3-way plug housing from socket and connect and lock with mating
connector of enclosed 2-core cable set.
Connect and lock remaining 3-way plug housing to socket.
Disconnect cable red with cable lug from enclosed fuse holder (not required in this case) and
connect fuse holder onto remaining vacant connection of 2-core cable set.
Connect 1-way plug housing of red cable from trailer turn signal monitoring onto remaining free
connection point of fuse holder.
Secure fuse holder and excess of red connection cable on vehicle-fitted cable loom using
enclosed cable ties.
b) Vehicles without 12V socket in boot:
Remove driver side footwell panelling.
Secure cable lug of enclosed fuse holder to terminal 30 (battery +) of relay carrier connection
terminal in driver side footwell.
Route red cable from trailer turn signal monitoring from the boot (along left side of vehicle) up to
driver side footwell.
Connect 1-way plug housing of red cable onto free connection point of fuse holder. (Enclosed 2-
core cable set is not required in this case)
Route all cable looms of installation kit alongside existing cable looms, secure with enclosed
cable ties and/or place in available cable retainers
Refit all panelling and dismantled parts.
4. Functional check
Re-connect ground cable to battery.
Check all functions with suitable test equipment.
Functional note for trailer turn signal monitoring:
A defect in the trailer turn signal indicator during trailer operation is indicated by an increase in
flashing frequency of vehicle indicator warning lamps.
