Care and cleaning instructions
NORMBAU washstands can cope with all the common bathroom cleaning products
and cosmetics. Staining, for example with shoe polish, ink, lipstick, nail polish or
make-up, can generally be removed. Please note that hair dye residues must be
removed immediately. After removal of the protective film, the washstand should be
treated with care for 4 weeks until it has fully hardened.
For the day-to-day cleaning of your NORMBAU washstand, you will normally only
require warm water and a damp cloth. In order to protect the surface, the water
temperature should not exceed 65°C, commercially available mild detergents that
do not contain abrasives are recommended. Limescale can be removed using non-
abrasive, limescale-dissolving mild detergents. Please only use soft cloths, not
microfibre cloths.
Never use cleaning agents containing acid, or that are aggressive or abrasive, as
this could damage the surface finish. Residues of strong substances containing
fluorine or alcoholic substances must be removed immediately. The inappropriate
use of abrasive cleaning agents, contact with sharp, scarifying or abrading objects
and the long-term effect of aggressive dyes or heat can damage the surface.
In order to preserve a high quality surface finish, your NORMBAU washstand should
be polished once or twice a year using a fine polishing product.
