Parallel connection of outputs A and B
When the outputs are switched in parallel, output voltages of up to 40 V can be achieved at up to 6 A (for the lab
mains adapter VLP-2403 OVP) or at up to 60 V at up to 4 A (for the lab mains adapter VLP-2602 OVP).
Proceed as follows to switch outputs A and B in parallel:
• Switch off the lab mains adapter and remove all connected consumers. Then switch on the lab mains adapter again.
• Set the current limitation value at both outputs according to the above description or verify the set value.
Observe that each output provides half of the required current in parallel circuits. To prevent one output
from triggering before the other, both outputs should be set to the same current value.
• Set the selection switch (17) from operating mode „IND" to „PAR".
• Set the desired output voltage with the rotary control for voltage settings (3a). In the parallel operation mode,
this rotary control also controls output B. It acts as master control for both voltage sources.
The rotary control for setting the voltage of output B (3b) is now without function.
• Connect the plus connection of the consumer to a red output socket (5a or 5b) and the minus connection of
the consumer to a blue output socket (5a or 5b).
Important!
Ensure sufficient insulation of the lines and connections, as well as sufficient conductor cross-sections.
Series connection of outputs A and B
When the outputs A and B are switched in series, output voltages of up to 80 V can be achieved at up to 3 A (for
the lab mains adapter VLP-2403 OVP) or at up to 120 V at up to 2 A (for the lab mains adapter VLP-2602 OVP).
Proceed as follows to switch outputs A and B in series:
• Switch off the lab mains adapter and remove all connected consumers. Then switch on the lab mains adapter
again.
• Set the current limitation value at both outputs according to the above description or verify the set value.
Observe that the required total current must be provided by both outputs in a series circuit. To prevent one
output from triggering before the other, both outputs should be set to the same current value.
• Set the selection switch (17) from operating mode „IND" to „SERIAL" or „SERIES TRACKING".
• With „SERIAL" selected, set the desired output voltages with the controls (3a and 3b) individually at both
outputs.
• With „SERIES TRACKING" selected, the rotary control for voltage settings for output A (3a) also controls
output B. It acts as master control for the complete output voltage through the red connection socket (5a) for
plus and to the blue connection socket (5b) for minus. The current limitation of both outputs (A and B) can be
influenced with the setting controller (3a).
• To determine the total output voltage of both outputs in „SERIAL" node, add the values of both voltage
displays (2a and 2b). In „SERIES TRACKING mode", the total value results from doubling the voltage display
(2a) of output A.
• Connect the plus connection of the consumer to the red output socket (5a) and the minus connection of the
consumer to the blue output socket (5b). Any earth connection must be connected either to the blue
connection socket 5a or the red connection socket 5b.
Important!
Ensure sufficient insulation of the lines and connections, as well as sufficient conductor cross-sections.
