l This pond filter is a mechanical/biological filter. The biological action will optimize
after a few weeks. During the growing season it is advisable to let the filter function
continuously. When the filter will be at rest during a longer period of time (5 hours
or more), the colony of bacteria will die for the greater part. Add nitrifying bacteria
to start up the biological process.
l The filter can be operated throughout the year. At high temperatures the
pond water will be provided with additional oxygen, whereas in a period of
frost the water surface will not entirely freeze over owing to the air bubbles.
l Polluted or blocked up filter material will reduce the operation of the filter and
the air yield. It should therefore be cleaned by rinsing out.
l Please switch off the electricity supply to the pump in case of maintenance.
