Basic safety notes
Intended use
The Geberit KSS-160, KSS-200 and KSS-315 welding plates may be used for butt-welding
connections of Geberit PE and Geberit Silent‑db20 pipes and fittings only:
• Geberit KSS-160 welding plate for Geberit PE and Geberit Silent‑db20 d32–160 mm
• Geberit KSS-200 welding plate for Geberit PE and Geberit Silent‑db20 d32–200 mm
• Geberit KSS-315 welding plate for Geberit PE d200–315 mm
Any other use or a use extending beyond this is deemed to be improper. Geberit will not
accept any liability for any resulting damage.
User qualifications
Without suitable training, users cannot recognise or may incorrectly estimate the hazards
presented by Geberit welding plates. They are therefore at risk of seriously injuring
themselves or others.
• Only skilled persons qualified in pipe installations are permitted to use Geberit welding
plates.
• Users must be conversant with – and adhere to – country-specific safety regulations.
• Users working with a Geberit welding plate for the first time must have been instructed by
an expert or have attended a specialist course on how to handle it safely.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
