WARNING: Only use hydraulic cylinders in a coupled
system. Never use a cylinder with unconnected couplers. If
the cylinder becomes extremely overloaded, components
can fail catastrophically causing severe personal injury.
WARNING: BE SURE SETUP IS STABLE BEFORE
LIFTING LOAD. Cylinders should be placed on a flat
surface that can support the load. Where applicable, use
a cylinder base for added stability. Do not weld or otherwise
modify the cylinder to attach a base or other support.
Avoid situations where loads are not directly centered
on the cylinder plunger. Off-center loads produce
considerable strain on cylinders and plungers. In
addition, the load may slip or fall, causing potentially dangerous
results.
Distribute the load evenly across the entire saddle
surface. Always use a saddle to protect the plunger.
IMPORTANT: Hydraulic equipment must only be
serviced by a qualified hydraulic technician. For repair
service, contact the Authorized ENERPAC Service Center
in your area. To protect your warranty, use only ENERPAC oil.
WARNING: Immediately replace worn or damaged parts
by genuine ENERPAC parts. Standard grade parts will
break causing personal injury and property damage.
ENERPAC parts are designed to fit properly and withstand high
loads.
3.0 CONTROL-BOARD
3.1 Changing the Control Board on an Enerpac ZE,
ZW, and ZU Pump
WARNING: The Control-board is an electronic device
that is susceptible to static electricity. Handle the
Control-board
with
functional condition and in use! (i.e.: wear an ESD wristband !)
1.
If possible, connect the pump to line voltage and read the
information given on the LCD screen during the boot-up
process. Write down the pump model number as well as the
motor type (software version 5.7 and up).
If the pump model number and/or the motor type information
is not available from the screen, call Enerpac Tech Service.
Please have the full pump model code, as shown on the
pump nameplate, available when calling Enerpac.
2.
The replacement board is factory-set with the default
values: current Software revision, pump model No. 6 and
motor type UN.
The pump model number has to be set to:
1: For certain special pumps only
2: For Advance-Hold-Retract function, i.e. with a VE32 valve
3: For Dump function, i.e. with a VE32-D valve
4: For Torque-Wrench function up to 11,600 psi and a B-port
relief valve setting at 2,600 psi
5: For Torque-Wrench function up to 11,600 psi and a B-port
relief valve setting at 1,600 psi
6: For standard pumps with a 3/3-way or 3/4-way valve, i.e.
VE33, VE43 or VEW43P
7: For Torque-Wrench function up to 10,000 psi and a B-port
relief valve setting at 2,600 psi
8: For Jog function, using a manual valve

1P:
3P:
9: For Pallet De-Coupling function, i.e. with a VEW43 valve
10: For Unloading Valve function, i.e. with a VEW22 valve
3.
After replacing the Control Board make sure that all electrical
connections are made properly.
4.
Start the pump and follow the boot-up process until the
screen shows "OK".
