2. Installation
2.1. Selecting the location
The location must be sturdy, flat and level. Avoid locations with excessive air current, vibrations, heat
sources or rapid temperature changes. Allow sufficient space around the instrument.
2.2. Assembling Components
Place the stainless steel pan onto the weighing platform before turning the scale on.
2.3. Connecting to Power Supply
AC Adapter Installation
Connect the AC adapter power cord to the instrument's power input connector, and then connect the
AC plug to a suitable electrical outlet.
CAUTION: Only use an AC adapter specified by OHAUS.
Rechargeable Battery Power
Allow the battery to charge for 12 hours before using the scale on battery power. The instrument can be
operated during charging, and the battery is protected against overcharging. For maximum operating
time, the battery should be charged at room temperature.
2.4. Leveling the Scale
To level the scale, adjust the feet/leveling wheel until the bubble is centered in the circle of the level
indicator. Be sure that the scale is levelled each time when its location is changed.
2.5. Initial Calibration
For best results, the instrument's calibration should be checked prior to first use. If adjustment is
needed, refer to the Calibration section of the instruction manual.
