Thank you for purchasing this Hendi appliance. Read this user
manual carefully, paying particular attention to the safety regu-
lations outlined below, before installing and using this appliance
for the first time.
Safety instructions
• Only use this appliance indoor.
• Incorrect operation and improper use of the appliance can seri-
ously damage the appliance and injure users.
• The appliance may only be used for the purpose it was intended
and designed for. The manufacturer is not liable for any damage
caused by incorrect operation and improper use.
• Never try to open the casing of the appliance yourself.
• Do not insert any objects in the casing of the appliance.
• Do not use the appliance after it has fallen or is damaged in any
other way. Have it checked and repaired, if necessary, by a certi-
fied repair company.
• Do not try to repair the appliance yourself. This could give rise to
life-threatening situations.
• Always keep an eye on the appliance when in use.
• Children do not understand that incorrect use of appliances can
be dangerous. Therefore, never let children use appliances with-
out supervision.
• Do not use any extra devices that are not supplied along with the
appliance.
• Installation as well as any conversion or adaptation to a different
type of gas must be carried out in accordance with current laws
and only by qualified and authorized personnel.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including chil-
dren) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
• Gas installations should be checked at least once a year.
• Note: the griddle is hot. Let it cool down before touching or re-
moving it.
• If a gas leak is detected immediately close the gas valve.
• Note that parts of the appliance can become very hot. Wear pro-
tective clothing (gloves) if you must touch them anyway.
• Be careful of the position of the connection flexible tube so as
to ensure that it is not subjected to twisting. The hose does not
come in contact with hot parts and sharp edges.
DANGER! RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Do not attempt to

repair the appliance by yourself. Do not immerse the
electrical parts of the appliance in water or other liquids. Never
hold the appliance under running water.
• NEVER USE A DAMAGED APPLIANCE! Check the electrical con-
nections and cord regularly for any damage. When damaged,
disconnect the appliance from the power supply. Any repairs
should only be carried out by a supplier or qualified person to
avoid danger or injury.
• WARNING! When positioning the appliance, route the power ca-
ble safely if necessary to avoid unintentional pulling, being dam-
aged, coming into contact with the heating surface, or causing a
tripping hazard.
• WARNING! As long as the plug is in the socket the appliance is
connected to the power supply.
• WARNING! ALWAYS switch off the appliance before disconnect-

ing from the power supply, cleaning, maintenance or storage.
• Only connect the appliance to an electrical outlet with the voltage
and frequency mentioned on the appliance label.
• Do not touch the plug/electrical connections with wet or damp
hands.
• Keep the appliance and electrical plug/connections away from
water and other liquids. If the appliance falls into water, remove
the power supply connections immediately. Do not use the appli-
ance until it has been checked by a certified technician. Failure to
follow these instructions will cause life threatening risks.
• Connect the power supply into an easily accessible electrical
outlet so you can disconnect the appliance immediately in case
of emergency.
• Make sure the cord does not come in contact with sharp or hot
objects and keep it away from open fire. Never pull the power
cord to unplug it from the socket, always pull the plug instead.
• Never carry the appliance by its cord.
• Do not operate this appliance by means of an external timer or
remote-control system.
• Do not place the appliance on a heating object (gasoline, electric,
charcoal cooker, etc.).
• Do not cover the appliance in operation.
• Do not place any objects on top of the appliance.
• Do not use the appliance near any open flames, explosive or
flammable materials. Always operate the appliance on a hori-
zontal, stable, clean, heat-resistant and dry surface.
• The appliance is not suitable for installation in an area where a
water jet could be used.
• Leave a space of at least 20 cm around the appliance for venti-
lation during use.
• WARNING! Keep all ventilation openings on the appliance free
from obstruction.
Special safety instructions
• Necessary changes may only be done by a qualified technician.
• This appliance is preset for gaz G20 (natural gas), but can be con-
verten on propan/butan gas (G30/G31).
• This appliance must be kept away from flammable materials
during use.
• The appliance may only be installed against or on fire-resistant
surfaces.
• The appliance must be installed in accordance with the applica-
ble national regulations.
• Do not move the appliance during use.
• Always close the gas valve if the appliance is no longer being
used.
• Changing or modifying this equipment is dangerous and there-
fore not allowed.
• Parts which are fastened or sealed by the manufacturer, are not
to be loosened or adjusted by the user.
• Do not cover the ventilation openings in the appliance.
• The gas inlet fitting (Fig.1 on page 3) meets ISO 7/1 and ISO 228/1
standards with a ø ½" connection, situated at the back of the
machine.
• WARNING: some parts of the appliance can become hot. Keep
children away from the appliance.
• NOTE: The appliance should be installed under an extractor
hood for removing any cooking fumes.
• NOTE: Install a shut-off cock in the line between the appliance
and the gas distribution network.
