Connecting, putting into operation
Remove the main fuse from the fuse box or switch
off the main circuit-breaker before beginning instal-
lation.
a) General
To avoid false triggering, installation of the movement detector
should not be carried out near an air-conditioning heat exchanger
extraction fan or close to other heat sources (equipment with heat
variations).
At the rear are two screw terminals. The PIR Switch must now be
connected in accordance with the wiring diagram below, following
the safety regulations. In the process, the length of bare conduc-
tors may in no circumstances exceed 5 mm. Afterwards, the PIR
Switch is affixed (when into wood) with at least two diagonally-op-
posite screws or with both screws (left and right) of the concealed
socket itself if present. The holes for this are to the left and right of
the actual sensor (visible with cover removed; see also the illustrati-
on on the fold-out page). With plaster, concrete, brick or other
walls suitable wall plugs must be used. Countersunk or similar scr-
ews may not be used, because otherwise the plastic surrounding
the holes in the PIR Switch case can break.

b) Manual operation
When the connected lighting is to be switched on manually without
PIR, operate the small switch above the time-setting control. The
connected lighting remains switched on until the switch is operated
once more.
c) Automatic operation
If the small switch above the time-setting control is not operated,
the PIR Switch becomes active above a brightness of less than ap-
prox. 10 lux. The sensor is then ready to operate. If a heat source
moves within the capture area of 7 m max., then the PIR Switch
switches the connected lighting on. According to the setting of the
time-setting control, the lighting is automatically switched off after
5 to 200 seconds. If the control is at its right-hand stop (clockwise),
then the time to switch-off is approx. 200 s. If the control is at its
left-hand stop (anticlockwise), then the time to switch-off is approx.
5 s.
Afterwards the PIR Switch is again ready to operate.
The built-in light-dependent resistor (LDR) ensures that the PIR
Switch only becomes active during darkness, or with less than ap-
prox. 10 lux (advanced twilight).

Disposal

Dispose of an unusable, irreparable PIR Switch in accordance with
applicable statutory regulations!

Rectification of faults

With the PIR Switch you have acquired a unit constructed to the la-
test technological standards. However, faults can occur. Because
of this, the following describes how some of these problems can
be resolved by the user relatively easily:
