Removing accumulated Cuttings

❐ Do not attempt to remove any cuttings while the blade is oper-
ating. Only remove cuttings that have accumulated in the device
after you have deactivated the device. Wear work gloves when do-
ing so!
If you trim wet plants with the "Garden Barber", plants with branches that are thicker than 6 mm
or very dense hedges, the device will automatically deactivate. Remove any accumulated cuttings
as follows:
1. If the device has not yet been deactivated, deactivate it.
2. Take the collecting hose (2) out of the ejection opening. Turn the device off.
You can now continue working with the "Garden Barber". However, ensure that no "unsuitable"
plants end up in the cutting head.

Cleaning and Storage

❐ When cleaning the cutting head, do not touch the blades with
your fi ngers and/or do not insert your fi ngers between the blades.
Wear work gloves when doing so!
❐ When cleaning, do not use any scouring or abrasive cleaners.
For easier handling and to ensure that the blades have the longest possible life cycle, you should
clean the cutting head (11) after every use as follows:
1. Remove the collecting hose (2) from the ejection opening.
2. Disassemble the cutting head and remove any cuttings that have accumulated. For this, follow
the instructions in the section "Removing accumulated Cuttings", steps 3 to 5.
3. Clean the cutting head carefully with a damp cloth.
4. Return the cutting head to its previous position (see "Removing accumulated Cuttings", steps
6 and 7).

3. Hold the device fi rmly with one hand on the handle and the
other on the ejection opening (9). The bottom of the cutting
head (11) is pointing up.
4. For this, push the locking mechanism (8) away from the cutting
head. At the same time, turn the ejection opening (and the
cutting head) clockwise and then pull the cutting head off of the
main unit (12).
5. Carefully remove any cuttings from the cutting head and/or ejec-
tion hole with a long object (such as a stick).
6. Put the cutting head back on the main unit. For this, insert the
pin of the main unit in the corresponding opening on the cutting
head (see fi g.) and push both parts together (in the process, turn
it back and forth gently) until the fasters audibly lock into place.
7. Turn the ejection opening with the cutting head counterclock-
wise until it audibly locks into place.
8. Secure the collecting hose on the device.
