AC VOLTAGE MEASUREMENT

1.
1. Set the rotary switch to the proper ac voltage range. If the voltage to be measured is not known
beforehand, set the rotary switch at the highest range position and then reduce it until a satisfactory
resolution is obtained.
2.
Connect the red test lead to the "VΩmA"-terminal and the black test lead to the "COM"-terminal.
3.
Connect the tips of the probes to the load, source, or the circuit being measured.
4.
Read the displayed value.

RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT

1.
If the resistance being measured is connected to a circuit, turn off the power and discharge
all capacitors before applying the test probes.
2.
Set the rotary switch at desired "Ω" range position.
3.
Connect the red test lead to the "VΩmA"- terminal and the black test lead to the "COM"-
terminal.
4.
Connect the tips of the probes across the resistor to be measured and read the displayed
value.

DIODE TEST

Use the diode test to check diodes and other semiconductor devices. The diode test sends a
current through the semiconductor junction, and then measures the voltage drop across the
junction; a good silicon junction drops between 0.5V and 0.8V.

1. To avoid electrical shock and/or damage to the instrument, disconnect circuit power and
discharge all high-voltage capacitors before testing diodes.

Connect the red test lead to the "VΩmA"-terminal and the black test lead to the "COM"
terminal (The polarity of red lead is positive "+".)
4.
Connect the red test lead probe tip to the anode of the diode to be tested and the black test
lead probe tip to the cathode of the diode. The approx. forward voltage drop of the diode will
be displayed.
5.
If the connection is reversed, only figure "1"will be shown.
