USAGE

TIP: After the test or measurement is finished, set the rotary switch at the OFF position to save
battery power.

TURNING THE DIGITAL MULTIMETER ON OR OFF

Turning on is done by turning the rotary switch to the appropriate function.
Turning off is done by turning the rotary switch to the OFF-position

DC VOLTAGE MEASUREMENT

1.
Set the rotary switch to the proper dc voltage range. If the voltage to be measured is not known
beforehand, set the rotary switch at the highest range position and then reduce it until a satisfactory
resolution is obtained.
2.
Connect the red test lead to the "VΩmA"-terminal and the black test lead to the "COM"-terminal.
3.
Connect the tips of the probes to the load, source, or the circuit being measured.
4.
Read the displayed value. The polarity of the red test lead connection will be indicated.

DC CURRENT MEASUREMENT

1.
Turn off the power of the measured circuit. Discharge all the high voltage capacitors.
2.
To avoid damage to the Digital Multimeter or injury if the fuse blows, never attempt an in-circuit
current measurement where the open-circuit potential to earth is greater than 250V. To avoid damage
to the Digital Multimeter, use the proper terminals, function, and range for your measurement.
Never place the test leads in parallel with a circuit or component when the leads are plugged into the
current terminals.
3.
Set the rotary switch at the desired DC Ampere range position.
4.
Connect the red test lead to the "VΩmA"-terminal and the black test lead to the "COM"-terminal. (For
measurements between 200mA and 10A, connect the red lead to the "10A"-terminal.)
5.
Break the circuit path to be measured. Connect the black test lead probe tip to the more negative side
of the break; connect the red test lead probe tip to the more positive side of the break. (Reversing the
leads will give a negative reading, but will not damage the Digital Multimeter.)
6.
Turn on the power of the measured circuit.
7.
Read the current value on the LCD display along with the polarity of the red lead connection.
8.
Turn off the power of the measured circuit and discharge all the high voltage capacitors. Remove the
test leads and recover the measured circuit.
