10. Handling
• Observe all safety notes in these operating instructions and all other notes in the respective chapters.
• Never touch the mains plug with wet or damp hands! If the mains plug is already wet (e.g. accidentally
dropped into the water), dry it carefully before plugging it into a mains socket. There is danger to life from
electric shock otherwise!
• The following unfavourable conditions are to be avoided at the place of installation and during transport:
- extreme cold or heat
- direct solar irradiation
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations
• Never reach into the product's openings; do not push any objects into them.
• If the product is taken from a cold into a warm room, condensation may develop. In this case let the
product reach room temperature before taking it into operation again. This may take several hours.
There is a danger of potentially fatal electric shock (e.g. when the mains plug is moistened by
condensation).
• When setting up and operating, ensure that neither the mains cable nor the hoses are bent, crushed or
otherwise damaged.
• Inspect the product for damage or leaks regularly.
If you find any damage, the product must NOT be used; disconnect it from the mains voltage at once.
Take the device to a specialised workshop or dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way.
• If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the dirt water pump must be turned off and
precautions are to be taken to ensure that it is not used unintentionally.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the pump or connection lines show visible damage
- the pump no longer works
- the pump has been transported or stored under difficult circumstances
- there has been heavy stress during transport.
• Do not pull the mains plug from the mains socket by pulling the cable! Always pull the mains plug from
the mains socket by the lateral grip areas. Otherwise, the mains cable may be damaged; danger to life
from electric shock!
• Never take the dirt water pump apart. The dirt water pump contains no parts that require maintenance
by you. Maintenance or repair and opening of the dirt water pump in this context must only be performed
by a specialist or specialist workshop.
