c) Setup and Operation
• Depending on site of use, a sufficiently strong, water-proof rope can be applied to the carry handle of the dirt water
pump to attach the dirt water pump.
The dirt water pump must never be held or attached by the mains cable! This damages the mains cable;
there is danger to life from electric shock!
Holding/attaching the dirt water pump via the hose is impermissible as well.
• At the side of the dirt water pump, there is an eyelet for fastening the cable to the float switch.
The activation/deactivation water level will later result from the position in which the float switch cable is attached
to the eyelet.
The float switch deactivates the pump at a height of approx. 7 cm on the setup surface of the dirt water pump; it
switches on the pump at a height of more than approx. 52 cm.
The production tolerances or position of the float switch in the water or at movement of the float switch may
cause deviations!
Fasten the cable to the float switch very carefully and set the correct cable length for your application site.
The float switch must be able to move freely to correctly activate or deactivate the dirt water pump. Operation in
too-narrow shafts therefore is not possible.
• Place the dirt water pump in the water to be conveyed (e.g. a flooded basement).
• Plug the mains plug into a properly installed protective contact mains socket to start the dirt water pump.
This must be an IP44 mains socket for operation in the outdoor area.
The mains plug must only be plugged into the mains socket when dry. There is danger to life from electric
shock otherwise!
• If the float switch is placed correctly, the dirt water pump will switch on at a sufficient water level and start taking
in water and transporting it through the exit opening. Activation/deactivation can be varied as described above
(position of the cable of the float switch in the lateral eyelet).
The dirt water pump is self-in-taking and should covey water after a few seconds.
• The dirt water pump switches off automatically if the float switch drops.
The dirt water pump can also be operated manually by fastening the float switch to the lateral eyelet
accordingly or placing it higher.
The dirt water pump must not be operated unsupervised here, because it will not switch off if there is no
water or if the suction basket or the hose is clogged, which would damage the pump.
