FUNCTIONING HWA50
The water heater is equipped with a stainless−steel
water reservoir and a plastic fill/overflow reservoir.
This water heater has been equipped with 3 heating
elements and is filled with the aid of a magnetic
valve.
An electrode is present in the fill/overflow reservoir
to check the water level in the water heater, while
another electrode checks the mass. A temperature
sensor is present in the water heater to check that
the water temperature is at 97°C.
The machine is also equipped with a main switch
and a lamp to indicate that the temperature is "too
cold" (below 94°C).
If the machine is switched on via the main switch, a
relay opens the magnetic valve causing the water
reservoir to fill via the fill/overflow reservoir. If the
upper electrode is reached during filling, the
magnetic valve closes and the heating element is
switched on. If the water in the water heater is at
93°C, the magnetic valve opens once again. If the
temperature drops to 90°C or water reaches the
electrode, the magnetic valve closes again. (When
the magnetic valve closes, it will only open again
after 5 seconds.) When the water level in the water
heater is the same as that in the fill/overflow
reservoir, and the temperature has risen to 97°C,
the heating element is switched off. When the
temperature drops below 95°C, it switches on again.
The indicator lamp lights up at temperatures below
94°C.

The indicator lamp "too cold" can be set using
potentiometer P1 and the tap temperature by
potentiometer P2, between 80°C and 100°C.
This model is adjusted and controlled as follows:
D JUMPER 1 is set to:
D JUMPER 2 is set to:
D JUMPER 3 is set to:
If during filling the upper electrode is not reached
within approx. 10 minutes, the heating element is
switched off.
If the magnetic valve is open for longer than approx.
3 minutes, the machine is switched off and can only
be switched on again using the main switch.
If the heating is switched on for longer than approx.
7 minutes, the machine checks whether the water
level has reached the upper electrode. If no contact
with the upper electrode is made, the machine starts
the filling procedure as described under "Start".
Because water boils more readily at higher altitudes, a
"jumper" has been added to the control. By setting
this "jumper" to =, all the above temperatures are
lowered by approx. 3°C (jumper 2)
