Registering a handset
You can connect up to 5 cordless handsets to your base unit.
New cordless handsets (PowerTel 1701, available as an
accessory) must be registered prior to use.
Registering a brand new PowerTel 1701:
1. In idle state press and hold down the Page key on the side of
the base for approx. 6 seconds. The "In use" LED goes on.
2. Place the handset in the charger. After a short time the hand-
set will be registered.

Quiet mode
You can turn on the quiet mode for a period of time (1-12
hours). During this period, all tones (except paging tone) and
call screening are muted.
When you turn on the quiet mode, the answering machine
turns on automatically. When the quiet mode duration expi-
res, the answering machine remains on.
1. Press and hold down the Hash key

2. Enter the desired duration (1-12), then press
