Intended use
Only use the portable step ladder
for its intended purpose . Do not use
the portable step ladder for other
purposes .
The portable step ladder is not suitable
for commercial purposes .
Inspection and preparation
Check the portable step ladder after
receiving it, and again before each
use . Check all components to ensure
everything is in good condition and
working correctly .
Never use damaged or broken
portable step ladders .
Do not carry out any temporary repairs
to the portable step ladder . Leave any
repairs to the relevant specialist .
Attention! Portable step ladders
made from metal can conduct
electricity . Place metal step ladders at
least 2 metres away from live electrical
wires which have not been isolated .
Do not use the portable step ladders
outdoors in strong winds (wind strength
of 6) .
Keep portable step ladders as far
as possible away from any adverse
interferences such as wet paint, mud,
snow and oil .
Place the portable step ladder carefully .
Proceed with caution . Do not put it
upside down, the wrong way around
or leaning against a round or narrow
column etc .
Never place portable step ladders
on tables, containers, crates or other
unstable surfaces .
Do not put portable step ladders
on sloping, soft, uneven or slippery
surfaces .
Take additional precautionary
measures when portable step ladders
have to be set up in front of a doorway
or passage etc .
Once set up, do not leave portable
step ladders unattended . Think about
children .
List of items to be inspected
For regular inspection, the following items
shall be taken into account:
1 . Check that the stiles/legs (uprights)
are not bent, bowed, twisted, dented,
cracked, corroded or rotten .
2 . Check that the stiles/legs around the
fixing points for other components are
in good condition .
3 . Check that fixings (usually rivets, screws
or bolts) are not missing, loose, or
corroded .
4 . Check that rungs/steps are not missing,
loose, excessively worn, corroded or
damaged .
