make it level. The right-hand side of the angle gauge is the reference edge.
• If the angle gauge measures an exact horizontal, a horizontal line will be displayed and no
arrow symbols will appear on the display.
The LCD display features a display rotation function. When you position the angle
gauge the other way up (180°), the display rotates to make the measurements
easier to read. For best results and to ensure consistent measurements, always use
the bottom of the angle gauge as the reference surface.
c) Switching units
• The default unit is degrees (°). Measurements are displayed in °.
• Press the MODE button (2) to change the unit to percent (%).
• Press the MODE button (2) again to display the inclination in mm/m. Press the button again
to display the measurement in IN/FT.
d) Measuring relative angles
• Turn on the angle gauge and place the bottom of the angle gauge on the surface that you
want to measure. If the surface is not horizontal, briefly press the ON/OFF/REF button (3) to
reset the angle gauge to zero. "0.00°" will appear on the LCD display (4). Depending on the
selected unit, the zero point may not include decimal places.
• The angle gauge is now in relative measurement mode. The
LCD display to indicate that the measured angle is relative to another surface.
• The angle is measured in relation to the surface. If you subsequently incline the angle gauge
to the left or right or hold it on another surface, the display shows the angle between the two
surfaces, e.g. "42.00°". For example, if the surface is at an angle of 3° to the horizontal before
you press the ON/OFF/REF button (3), the actual angle will deviate from the horizontal by
45° or 39° when the measured angle is 42°. Note the direction of the arrow and inclination
symbol.
• Briefly press the ON/OFF/REF button (3) to exit the relative measurement mode.
e) Hold function
• Press the HOLD button (1) to freeze the measurement on the LCD display. The
will appear on the LCD display.
• You can now move the angle gauge and note the measured angle.
• Press the HOLD button (1) again to unfreeze the measurement on the LCD display. The
angle gauge will revert to the standard measurement mode. The
the LCD display.
f) Backlight
• Press any button to turn on the LCD display backlight.
• The backlight turns on automatically when the display changes.
• The backlight switches off after 20 seconds if no buttons are pressed and the angle gauge
is not moved.
g) Calibrating the angle gauge
Before calibrating the angle gauge, place it on a flat, even surface that it is at an
angle of no more than 5° to the horizontal. If the inclination angle exceeds 5°, "Err"
will be displayed and you will not be able to complete the calibration process.
• Press and hold the ON/OFF/REF button (3) to switch off the angle gauge.
• Place the bottom of the angle gauge on a secure horizontal surface.
Ensure that the angle gauge is not subjected to vibrations. Do not shake it during the
calibration process.
• Press and hold the HOLD (1) and ON/OFF/REF buttons (3) at the same time to place the
angle gauge in calibration mode. The "CAL" icon will appear on the LCD display.
• Keep the angle gauge still for a few seconds. Press the HOLD button (1). The "CAL1" symbol
will appear on the LCD display.
• Turn the angle gauge by 180° and ensure that the bottom of the angle gauge is level with
the same surface.
• Press the HOLD button (1) again. The "CAL2" icon will appear on the LCD display. Calibration
is complete when the "CAL2" icon disappears from the LCD display. The current angle will
be be displayed.
• Please note that calibrating the angle gauge changes the manufacturer's calibration settings.
Proceed with caution.

Care and cleaning

• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may
damage the casing or cause the product to malfunction.
• Do not immerse the product in water.
• Use a damp, lint-free cloth to clean the exterior of the product.
Disposal
a) Product
Distributors of electrical and electronic equipment are legally obliged to provide free take-back
of waste. Conrad provides the following return options free of charge (more details on our
website):
• in our Conrad offices
• at the Conrad collection points
• at the collection points of public waste management authorities or the collection points set up
by manufacturers or distributors within the meaning of the ElektroG
End users are responsible for deleting personal data from the WEEE to be disposed of.
symbol will appear on the
It should be noted that different obligations about the return or recycling of WEEE may apply in
countries outside of Germany.
b) (Rechargeable) batteries
Remove batteries/rechargeable batteries, if any, and dispose of them separately from the
product. According to the Battery Directive, end users are legally obliged to return all spent
batteries/rechargeable batteries; they must not be disposed of in the normal household waste.
symbol
Used (rechargeable) batteries can be returned to collection points in your municipality, our
stores or wherever (rechargeable) batteries are sold. You thus fulfil your statutory obligations
and contribute to environmental protection.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries that are disposed of should be protected against short circuit
icon will disappear from
and their exposed terminals should be covered completely with insulating tape before disposal.
Even empty batteries/rechargeable batteries can contain residual energy that may cause them
to swell, burst, catch fire or explode in the event of a short circuit.

This symbol must appear on any electrical and electronic equipment placed on the
EU market. This symbol indicates that this device should not be disposed of as
unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.
Owners of WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) shall dispose
of it separately from unsorted municipal waste. Spent batteries and accumulators,
which are not enclosed by the WEEE, as well as lamps that can be removed from
the WEEE in a non-destructive manner, must be removed by end users from the
WEEE in a non-destructive manner before it is handed over to a collection point.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled
with this symbol to indicate that disposal in household waste is forbidden. The
abbreviations for heavy metals in batteries are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb
= Lead (name on (rechargeable) batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
