Important safeGuards
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
read all InstructIons and safeGuards Before usInG.
DANGER —
To reduce the risk of injury or death by electric shock:
1. Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into water. Unplug immediately. Some electrical parts inside the clipper are electrically live, even with the switch "off."
2. Do not use while bathing or in a shower.
3. Do not place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.
4. Always unplug this appliance from the electrical outlet immediately after using.
5. Unplug this appliance before cleaning.
WARNING —
To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock or injury to persons:
1. An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.
2. To avoid bodily injury, children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with this appliance. This appliance should not be used by children or invalids.

9. Do not use this appliance with a damaged or broken comb nor with teeth missing from the blades, as injury may occur. Before use, make certain blades are aligned

10. During use, do not place or leave appliance where it may be damaged by an animal or exposed to weather.
11. To disconnect, turn all controls to "off," then remove plug from outlet.
12. Turn all controls to "off" before attaching or detaching detail trimmer blades.

maIntenance
Your Wahl clipper blades were oiled and aligned before leaving our factory; however, it is possible for blades to get bumped out of alignment. Blades must
be realigned if they have been removed for cleaning or replacement. To determine if realignment is necessary, compare your clipper blades with this sketch.
re-alIGnInG clIpper Blades
Note: Detail trimmer blades are permanently aligned and do not need realignment.
1. If your clipper has a taper lever, position the taper lever in the close cut position (B).
2. End of top blade teeth should be approximately 1/32-inch (.8 mm) back from bottom blade. This is important so that the clipper does not cut too close or allow
the moving cutter to touch the skin (A).
3. Extreme left-hand tooth of top blade must be covering or to the left of the first small tooth of bottom blade (A).
4. Extreme right-hand tooth of top blade must be touching the big tooth on the bottom blade (A).
If blade alignment is incorrect, add a few drops of Wahl Clipper oil to the blades, turn clipper "oN" for a few moments, turn "off" and unplug. Loosen screws slightly and
adjust (steps 2-4 listed above). Tighten screws after blades are aligned. other than blades, this clipper has no user-serviceable parts.
oIl
The blades of your new clipper should be oiled every few haircuts. Simply place a few drops of Wahl Clipper oil on the teeth of the blades (C). Use only one drop on the
detail trimmer blades. Use only the Wahl Clipper oil included in the pack. Due to the high speed of your Wahl clipper, the correct type of oil must be used. Do not use
hair oil, grease or any oil mixed with kerosene or any solvent, as the solvent will evaporate and leave the thick oil, slowing down the blades. Wahl Clipper oil is a very
thin, natural oil which will not evaporate and will not slow down the blades.
poWer screW
Your clipper has a power screw and it has been adjusted for peak efficiency before leaving the factory. However, if voltage in your home is low, you may need to readjust
it.
To adjust power, turn your clipper "oN". Use the end of the cleaning brush, a screwdriver or a thin coin to turn power screw in a clockwise direction until your hear a
noise. Then, slowly turn power screw out (counterclockwise), just until noise stops. This is the maximum power setting (D).
cord
The cord should not be used to pull the clipper. Since freedom of movement needs to be maintained, care should be used to keep the cord untwisted and unobstructed.
When stored, the cord should be coiled and the unit placed in original box or storage pouch (if provided).
If your clipper has a polarized plug: To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug fits in a polarized
outlet only one way. In the event the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. In the event it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet.
Do not change the plug in any way.
taper leVer
Your clipper has an adjustable taper lever, it is conveniently located near your thumb (if you're right-handed), so it can easily be adjusted while the clipper is in your
hand (E).
The taper lever adds versatility to your clipper by allowing you to gradually change the closeness of your cut without a guide comb. When the lever is in the uppermost
position, the blades will give you the closest cut and leave the hair very short. Pushing the lever downward gradually increases the cutting length. In its lowest position, the
taper lever will leave the hair approximately the same length as the 1/8-inch guide comb.
The taper lever will also extend the use of your blades since a different cutting edge is used in each setting. In addition, if extremely heavy haircutting has jammed the
blades, it will help you remove hair that has become wedged between the two blades without removing the blades. While the clipper is running, rapidly move the lever
from "close cut" to "longer cut" a couple of times. Doing this each time you've finished using your clipper will help keep the blades clear of cut hair. If your clipper stops
cutting and this does not help, your cutting blades may be dull. Either replace them or return them to Wahl for sharpening.
detaIl trImmer
Use your detail trimmer to cut closer than the clipper, such as outlining and finishing the haircut. The blades of your detail trimmer are narrower and designed for easier
detail work. The blades extend further from the unit, so you can feel comfortable detailing around the ears, sideburns, and neckline.
1. Turn the unit control to the "off" position.
2. Adjust the taper lever to the "close cut" position.
3. open your detail trimmer.
A. first, unsnap the detail trimmer lid by lifting up at the edges of the lid (F). Lift the detail trimmer lid around the clipper blade.
B. Guide the detail trimmer lid over the clipper blade. In order for the detail trimmer to function properly, the clipper blade must be positioned between the trimmer lid
and detail trimmer guide fingers (G).
C. Press down on the top center of detail trimmer lid (H) and snap to the clipper blade. Do not push on the detail trimmer blade.
4. Turn the unit control to the "oN" position and use for detail trimming. (See Cutting Hair for tips on technique.)
5. After trimming, turn the unit control to the "off" position. Clean your detail trimmer blade with the cleaning brush.
6. Close your detail trimmer.
A. Unsnap the detail trimmer lid from the clipper blade by lifting the back of the trimmer lid (J). Lift the detail trimmer lid around the detail clipper blade.
B. Tuck the detail trimmer blade down (K) and snap into place by pressing down on the top center of detail trimmer lid (L).
7. When exposed to excessive force such as dropping, the detail trimmer is designed to pop off rather than break. To re-attach your detail trimmer, simply snap the
detail trimmer arm back into place (M).
Wahl's GuIde to foolproof home haIrcuttInG
Before you cut haIr
1. Your clipper should be clean, oiled and in perfect working condition.
2. If your kit includes a plastic cape, place it around the neck, tying the strings and overlapping the cape portion to prevent hair from falling down inside the collar. If
no cape is provided, a towel will do nicely.
3. Position the person whose hair is to be cut on a stool or chair so that the top of his head is about even with your eyes.
4. After combing the hair to remove all tangles, hold the clipper in a relaxed, comfortable grip, with the nameplate under the palm near your index finger. This grip will
help you maintain comfortable, accurate cutting control.
NoTE: To attach guide combs, hold comb with the teeth up. Snap guide comb attachment firmly to the bottom of the clipper blade (N).
NoTE: Guide combs attach to the clipper, not the detail trimmer.
Depending on the kit you purchased your kit may include one of the following:
Individual Black Guide Combs – Providing predetermined lengths indicated on each guide comb.
Individual Color Guide Combs – Providing predetermined lengths indicated on each guide comb. Combs are also color coded for quick cutting length reference.

cuttInG haIr
General InformatIon
1. Always start by placing the largest guide comb on the clipper, then use shorter combs if a shorter length is desired.
2. Cut only a small amount until you become accustomed to how long each guide comb leaves the hair.
3. Allowing the clipper to cut its way through the hair gives a uniform cut. Do not force the clipper through at a faster rate.
4. Your hair grows evenly all over your head. A simple, light trimming at the lower neck and sides between professional haircuts may be all you need to bring back that well-
groomed look.
5. Remember that this procedure requires practice, and it is always better to leave too much hair the first few haircuts.
for medIum to lonG cuts (o)
1. Comb the hair so it falls into its natural direction.
2. Place the largest guide comb onto your clipper.
3. Trim the sides from the bottom upwards. Begin by holding the clipper lightly against the hair. The teeth of the guide comb should be pointing up
but flat against the head. Slowly lift the clipper up and outward through the hair (similar to a "rocking" motion).
4. Cut only a small amount at a time.
5. Repeat around sides and back of head.
6. for slightly shorter hair, either change to a shorter guide comb or apply more pressure and less lift away from head with the present
attachment.
7. Now cut the hair at the top of the head. Use the 1-inch guide comb for a fairly short cut. If your kit includes the 1-1/4-inch or 1-1/2-inch guide comb, you may use
this for a slightly longer cut. Place the teeth flat against the head, and slowly trim from the front to the back.
8. Comb the hair to assess if further cutting is necessary.
9. outline sideburns and necklines by using the detail trimmer.
for lonGer haIr on top (p)
By not using a guide comb, a longer cut can be achieved. Use either a barber comb or a regular comb, lift the hair on top of the head, cutting over the comb. You may
also grasp the hair between the fingers and cut to desired length. Continue this procedure from the front to the back of the head, gradually cutting the hair shorter by
reducing the space between the comb or fingers and the head. Comb frequently to remove trimmed hair and check for uneven strands.
for short cuts (p)
1. Place the largest guide comb onto your clipper.
2. Cut from the back of the neck to the crown. Hold the guide comb flat against the head and slowly move the clipper through the hair.
3. Use the same procedure from the lower side to the upper side of the head.
4. Cut the hair against the direction in which it grows, from the front to the crown.
5. Even up the cut with the sides.
6. Use closer-cutting guide combs to "taper" the hair down to the neckline, as desired.
7. Comb hair and check for uneven spots.
8. outline sideburns and neckline as described below by using the detail trimmer.
NOTE: To give a "flattop" look, the hair on top of the head must be cut over the top of a flat comb, rather than using the guide comb.
NOTE: If a short, tapered cut on the sides and back is desired, follow the diagram at right.
taperInG around ears (q)
USING LEfT AND RIGHT EAR GUIDE CoMBS
The Left and Right Ear Guide Combs have a built in taper ranging from 1/8-inch to 1/2-inch. By following the outline of the ear with the
appropriate comb, you achieve a gradual taper and blending without using multiple combs.
TO TAPER THE AREA BORDERING THE LEFT EAR
1. Attach the Left Ear Taper Comb to your clipper and stand facing the left ear.
2. Hold the clipper at a slight angle against the head. Position the guide comb just back of the left ear at the hairline.
3. Move the clipper in a small half circle pattern around the left ear toward the front of the head. Several small strokes may work best, depending on the length of hair.
Slowly move the clipper upward and outward. Be mindful of the ear. This procedure will allow you to guide hair into the comb towards the clipper blades.
NoTE: You may also achieve a tapering of sideburns by including the sideburn area as you begin to move the clipper around the ear.
TO TAPER THE AREA BORDERING THE RIGHT EAR
Attach the Right Ear Guide Comb to your clipper. Stand facing the right ear and repeat the process described above for the left ear. finish by outlining the area around the ear as
described in the following section.
outlInInG (r)
The narrower blades of the detail trimmer make trimming and outlining around the ears, neckline and sideburns easier.
1. Engage your detail trimmer.
2. Comb hair into desired style.
3. Start between the ear and the sideburns.
4. Hold detail trimmer with corner edge of blade against the hairline.
5. Slowly follow the desired outline of the hair over, around and behind the ears.
6. To define sideburns and the back of the neck, hold the detail trimmer upside down, against the skin at the desired length and move down.
7. Comb hair and check that sides are even. Check for uneven spots throughout the haircut.

Removes fear while trimming around the ears. With your Clipper turned off, attach the Ear Trim Guide to your Hair Clipper just like a regular snap on guide comb. for optimum
performance; rest one tine on the head, hold the clipper at approximately a 45-degree angle and slowly move the clipper around the ear (outside) working from front to back.
The tine channels hair into the teeth of the clipper.

Eyebrow Trim Guide (V)
Trims and shapes eyebrows with an easy snap on guide comb. With the Clipper turned off attach the Eyebrow Trim Guide just like a regular snap on guide comb. Starting
from just above your nose slowly guide the Clipper to the outside of your face, trimming in the same direction as your hair grows. This will trim and shape the longest and
most unruly hair. To trim much shorter you may work from the outside of the face back towards your nose. Extra care should be used when applying this technique as it may
trim closer than you would like.

mantenImIento
Sus cuchillas Wahl Clipper han sido aceitadas y alineadas antes de salir de fábrica. De todas formas, es posible que con movimientos bruscos las cuchillas se desalineen.
Las cuchillas han de ser alineadas si se han sacado para limpieza o reemplazo. Para determinar si es necesario realinearlas, compare las cuchillas de su cortadora con el

Nota: Las cuchillas de la recortadora adyacente a la cortadora están permanentemente alineadas y no necesitas realinearse.
1. Si su cortadora tiene un manipulador para la palanca, posicione el mismo en el nivel de corte cerrado. (B).
2. El extremo de los dientes de la cuchilla de arriba debe estar aproximadamente a 1/32 pulgadas, (8mm) más atrás de la cuchilla de abajo. Esto es importante para que

aceIte
Las cuchillas de su nueva cortadora deberían aceitarse cada pocos cortes. Simplemente ponga unas gotas de aceite Wahl Clipper en los dientes de las cuchillas. (C).
Use simplemente una gota en las cuchillas especiales de la recortadora adyacente. Use solamente el aceite Wahl Clipper incluido con su cortadora. Debido a la alta

tornIllo de sIntonIZacIÓn
Su cortadora tiene un tornillo de sintonización que ha sido ajustado antes de salir de fábrica. De todas formas, si el voltaje de su casa es bajo, usted puede necesitar
reajustar este tornillo de sintonización.
Para ajustarlo, encienda su cortadora. Use el extremo del cepillo limpiador, un destornillador o una moneda estrecha para girar el tornillo en la dirección de las agujas
del reloj hasta que usted oiga un ruido. Después lentamente, gire el tornillo hacia fuera en la dirección contraria a las agujas del reloj, hasta que el ruido pare. Este es
la máxima potencia. (D).
caBle
El cable no debe usarse nunca para sujetar la cortadora. Debido a que ha de mantenerse la libertad de movimiento, hay que procurar que el cable no se doble o retuerza
o se obstruya. Cuando guarde la cortadora, el cable ha de ser enroscado, y la cortadora ha de guardarse en la caja original o en el espacio proveído en el paquete (Si
se provee). Si su cortadora posee un enchufe polarizado: Para reducir el riesgo de electrocución, este aparato eléctrico posee un enchufe polarizado (una de las "patas"
es más ancha que la otra). Este tipo de enchufe encaja perfectamente en una toma de corriente, solamente en una dirección. En el caso de que el enchufe no encaje
perfectamente en la toma de corriente, invierta el enchufe y pruebe de nuevo. En caso de que aún así, no encaje, contacte con un electricista cualificado para instalar la
toma de corriente adecuada. No intente modificar el enchufe de ninguna forma.
manIpulador de la palanca
Usted va a empezar con el manipulador de la palanca de ajuste de su cortadora, convenientemente situada cerca de su dedo pulgar (si usted no es zurdo), de forma que
sea fácil ajustarla cuando la cortadora está en su mano. (E).
El manipulador de la palanca de ajuste añade versatilidad a su cortadora de forma que le permite cambiar gradualmente el tamaño de su corte sin un peine guía.
Cuando la palanca esta en la posición más alta, las cuchillas le darán un corte más cercano y le dejarán el pelo muy corto. Empujando la palanca gradualmente hacia
abajo, incrementará usted el largo del corte. Y en su posición más baja, el manipulador de la palanca dejará el pelo aproximadamente del mismo largo que lo dejaría
un peine guía de 1/8 pulgadas.
El manipulador de la palanca extenderá también el uso de las cuchillas, ya que se está usando un afilado distinto en cada posición. Además, en los casos en que
por un corte demasiado largo haya atascado las cuchillas, ayudará a eliminar el pelo que ha quedado entre las dos cuchillas sin necesidad de sacarlas. Mientras
la cortadora esté funcionando, mueva rápidamente la palanca desde la posición "close cut" (corte corto) a la posición "longer cut" (corte largo), un par de veces.
Haciendo esto cada vez que usted termine de usar su cortadora ayudará a mantener las cuchillas libres de pelos. Si su cortadora para de cortar y el procedimiento
anterior no le ayuda, sus cuchillas pueden estar dañadas. Reemplácelas o envíelas a Wahl para su afilado.
recortadora adyacente
Use la recortadora adyacente a su cortadora para cortar el pelo todavía más corto que su cortadora, para perfilar y finalizar el corte. Las cuchillas de la recortadora

De mesjes van uw Wahl haartrimmer zijn in de fabriek geolied en uitgelijnd; het is echter mogelijk dat de uitlijning van de mesjes door stoten niet meer optimaal is.
De mesjes moeten opnieuw worden uitgelijnd nadat ze voor reiniging of vervanging verwijderd zijn geweest. om te bepalen of ze opnieuw uitgelijnd moeten worden,
vergelijkt u de mesjes van uw haartrimmer met deze tekening.
trImmesJes opnIeuW uItlIJnen
N.B.: de mesjes van het opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik zijn altijd uitgelijnd en hoeven niet opnieuw gesteld te worden.
1. Als uw haartrimmer van een opkniphendeltje is voorzien, zet dit dan in de kort-knippositie (B).
2. Het uiteinde van de tanden op het bovenmesje moet zich ongeveer 0,8 mm achter het ondermesje bevinden. Dit is belangrijk omdat de haartrimmer dan nooit te kort
knipt en de bewegende snijkop de huid niet raakt (A).
3. De uiterst linkse tand van het bovenmesje moet boven of links van het eerste tandje op het ondermes zitten (A).
4. De uiterst rechtse tand van het bovenmesje moet de grote tand op het ondermesje raken (A).
Als de uitlijning van de mesjes niet goed is, brengt u een paar druppels Wahl Clipper oil op de mesjes aan. Zet de haartrimmer even op "on" (aan) en vervolgens weer
op "off" (uit). Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact. Draai de schroeven iets los en verstel ze (zie stappen 2-4 hierboven). Draai de schroeven aan als de mesjes zijn
uitgelijnd. De mesjes zijn het enige onderdeel van deze haartrimmer waaraan de gebruiker onderhoud kan plegen.
olIe
De mesjes van uw nieuwe haartrimmer moeten na een paar knipbeurten steeds worden geolied. Breng een paar druppeltjes Wahl Clipper oil aan op de tanden van de
mesjes (C). Gebruik slechts één druppeltje voor de mesjes voor gedetailleerd gebruik. Gebruik alleen de Wahl Clipper oil uit de verpakking. Wegens de hoge snelheid
van uw Wahl haartrimmer moet de juiste soort olie worden gebruikt. Gebruik geen haarolie, vet of andere olie die gemengd is met kerosine of een oplosmiddel, omdat
oplosmiddelen verdampen en dan stroperige olie achterlaten waardoor de mesjes langzamer gaan werken. Wahl Clipper oil is een zeer dunne, natuurlijke olie die niet
verdampt en de mesjes nooit langzamer zal laten werken.
stelschroef
Uw trimmer heeft een stelschroef die in de fabriek is ingesteld op optimale efficiëntie. Als de spanning bij u thuis echter laag is, kan het kan nodig zijn om de schroef te
verstellen.
om de spanning anders in te stellen, zet u de trimmer aan ("on"). Gebruik het uiteinde van een schoonmaakkwastje, een schroevendraaier of een muntje om de stelschroef
naar rechts (met de klok mee) te draaien, totdat u een geluid hoort. Daarna draait u langzaam de stelschroef naar buiten (naar links), tot het geluid ophoudt. Dit is de stand
voor maximale spanning (D).
snoer
U mag de trimmer niet aan het snoer naar u toe trekken. omdat u het apparaat vrij moet kunnen bewegen, dient u ervoor te zorgen dat het snoer niet in elkaar draait of blijft
haken. Als u het snoer opbergt, moet het worden opgerold en in de originele doos of opbergtas worden opgeborgen (indien geleverd).
Als uw trimmer een gepolariseerde stekker heeft: om het risico van een elektrische schok te verminderen, is dit apparaat voorzien van een gepolariseerde stekker (de ene
pen is breder dan de andere). Deze stekker past maar op één manier in een gepolariseerd stopcontact. Als de stekker niet goed in het stopcontact past, draait u hem om.
Past hij dan nog niet, neem dan contact op met een bevoegde elektricien om het juiste stopcontact te installeren. Breng geen enkele verandering aan de stekker aan.
opknIphendeltJe
Uw trimmer heeft een verstelbaar opkniphendeltje dat zich op een handige plek bevindt, vlakbij uw duim (als u rechtshandig bent), zodat u het gemakkelijk kunt verzetten
terwijl u de trimmer in uw hand houdt (E).
Het opkniphendeltje maakt uw trimmer nog veelzijdiger omdat u daarmee de lengte van het geknipte haar geleidelijk kunt veranderen zonder dat er een opzetkam aan te pas
komt. Als de hendel in de hoogste stand staat, werken de mesjes heel dicht bij de huid, zodat het haar heel kort wordt afgeknipt. Als u het hendeltje omlaag drukt, wordt de
kniplengte geleidelijk langer. In de laagste stand zorgt het hendeltje dat het haar ongeveer even lang blijft als met de opzetkam van 3 mm (1/8 in.).
Met het opkniphendeltje gaan uw mesjes langer mee omdat er voor elke stand een andere snijkant wordt gebruikt. Bovendien kunt u zo, als door het knippen van erg dik
haar de mesjes vast blijven zitten, het haar verwijderen dat tussen de mesjes vastzit zonder dat u de mesjes hoeft te verwijderen. Terwijl de trimmer aan staat, beweegt u
snel het hendeltje een paar keer van "kort knippen" naar "minder kort knippen". Als u dit elke keer doet nadat u de trimmer heeft gebruikt, blijft er geen haar tussen de
mesjes zitten. Als uw trimmer stopt met werken en deze procedure helpt niet, dan zijn uw snijmesjes misschien stomp. Vervang ze dan of stuur ze naar Wahl om geslepen
te worden.
opZetstuk Voor GedetaIlleerd GeBruIk
Met uw opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik kunt u extra kort knippen, bijvoorbeeld voor het aangeven en afwerken van het kapsel. De mesjes op uw opzetstuk voor
gedetailleerd gebruik zijn smaller, waardoor u er gemakkelijker subtiel mee kunt trimmen. De mesjes steken verder buiten het apparaat uit, zodat u probleemloos
gedetailleerd kunt trimmen rond de oren, bakkenbaarden en bij de hals.
1. Zet de regelaar van het apparaat in de stand "off".
2. Zet het opkniphendeltje op "kort knippen".
3. open uw opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik.
A. Eerst opent u het klepje van het opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik door het klepje aan de randen vast te pakken (F). Breng het klepje omhoog tot aan het mes
van de haartrimmer.
B. Laat het klepje over het mes van de haartrimmer heen zakken. Het opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik zal alleen goed werken als het mes van de haartrimmer
juist tussen het klepje en de geleidevingers van het opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik is geplaatst (G).
C. Druk in het middenstuk van de bovenkant van het klepje van het opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik (H) en klap het naar het mes van de haartrimmer toe. Druk
niet op het mesje van het opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik.
4. Zet de regelaar van het apparaat op "oN" (aan) en gebruik het voor de fijnafwerking van het haar. (Zie het onderdeel Haar knippen voor tips over methoden.)
5. Als u klaar bent, zet u de regelaar van het apparaat weer in de stand "off". Maak het mesje van het opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik schoon met het
schoonmaakkwastje.
6. Sluit het opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik.
A. Haal het klepje van de trimmer los van het mesje van de haartrimmer door de achterkant van het klepje omhoog te brengen (J). Breng het klepje omhoog tot aan
het mesje voor gedetailleerd gebruik.
B. Breng het mesje omlaag (K) en 'klik' het in positie door op het middelste stuk van de bovenkant van het klepje te drukken (L).
7. Het opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik is zo ontworpen dat het, bij het uitoefenen van veel kracht (bijvoorbeeld als het apparaat valt), eerder los komt dan afbreekt.
om het opzetstuk voor gedetailleerd gebruik opnieuw aan te brengen, drukt u de arm van de trimmer gewoon weer op de juiste plaats terug (M).
