The machine may be connected only to a properly
s
earthed power system. The socket and extension
cable must have a functional protective conductor.
If the cable is damaged or cut through while work-
s
ing, do not touch the cable but immediately pull the
mains plug. Never use the machine with a dam-
aged cable.
Always direct the cable to the rear away from the
s
machine.
Insert the mains plug into the socket only when the
s
machine is switched off.
Take hold of the drill stand only by the insulat-
s
ed handles when the tool could come in con-
tact with a hidden electric line or its own
mains cable. Contact with a voltage carrying line
can place the metal parts of the machine under
voltage and lead to an electrical shock.
Never leave the machine unattended while in oper-
s
ation!
Never allow children to use the machine.
s
Bosch is able to ensure flawless functioning of the
s
machine only if the original accessories intended
for it are used.
Attaching to a S 500 A Diamond

Place the mains cable and the water hose of the ma-
chine in the holders on the machine mount of the drill
stand.
When removing the machine, proceed in the reverse
order.
Inserting/Replacing the Tool
Before all work on the machine itself, in pauses
in the work as well as when not in use, secure the
machine against unintentional movement by en-
gaging the feed lock 21.
Inserting the Tool
Screw a R 1/2" core bit into the drill spindle 16 or a
1 1/4" UNC core bit onto the drill spindle 16 .
Check the drill bit for firm seating.
s
The placing of a copper ring 15 (accessory) between
the drill spindle and the 1 1/4" UNC drill bit facilitates
the loosening of the drill bit when removing the tool.
With an adapter (accessory), SDS-DI core drill bits can
also be used.
Tool Removal
The core bits can become hot when the machine is
s
operated for a longer time. Wear protective gloves
when changing the drill bit.
Place a 36 mm open-ended spanner on the two flat
surfaces of the drill spindle 16 and a second spanner
on the core bit 14 (1 1/4" UNC core bit: 41 mm; R 1/2"
core bit: 22 mm). Loosen the core bit by turning the
spanners in opposite directions.
