6. Commissioning

The activities described in this section must only
be executed by a qualified electrician.
6.1

Switching on the device

DANGER
Electric shock hazard when devices are damaged
If a damaged device is used people can be seriously inju-
red or killed through an electric shock.
f Do not use the device if it is damaged.
f Mark the damaged device to ensure that no one conti-
nues using it.
f Eliminate the damage immediately.
f Take the device out of service if necessary.
Precondition:
„ Device is installed correctly.
„ Device is in a proper condition.
„ There is no residual current device sensitive to pulse
current (type A) in the upstream electrical installation.
„ All protective devices (e.g. residual current devices, line
circuit breakers and contactors) function correctly and
are switched on.
„ During the initial setting-up process, the device was
inspected in accordance with IEC 60364-6 and the
applicable national regulations (e.g. in Germany: DIN
VDE 0100-600).

f Switch the power supply on.

The LED on the power supply unit will light.

6.2 Checking the device

Test according to IEC 60364-6 and the applicable nation-
al regulations (e.g. in Germany DIN VDE 0100-600)
Prior to the initial setting-up process, carry out an inspec-
tion of the charging station in accordance with
IEC 60364-6 and the applicable national regulations (e.g. in
Germany DIN VDE 0100-600). The test can be carried out
in connection with the MENNEKES test box and a standard-
compliant test equipment. The MENNEKES test box simu-
lates vehicle communication. Test boxes are available as
accessories from MENNEKES.
f Perform a standard test before the device release.

6.3 Final procedures at charging column

ATTENTION
Device damage due to crushed components or cables
If components or cables are crushed when closing the
device, damage and malfunctions can occur.
f When closing the device ensure that components or
cables are not crushed.
f If necessary fix components or cables in place.
After installation and commissioning, you must carry out
the following steps:
f Check the firm seating of water discharge hoses.
f Insert the front plate in the basic enclosure and inter-
lock the front plate with the turning lever.
f Remove the key from the cylinder lock and check the
interlock.
f Close the cover plate and interlock cover plate and
cover lock on the back of the charging column.
f Remove any protective film from the enclosure of the
charging station.

Start-up is now complete and the charging column is
operational.
MENNEKES recommends using pedestal filler for
protection against humidity and insects.
