Wrist/thumb orthosis
Purpose:
Rhizo-pro is a thumb orthosis used for immobilisation. The
orthosis may only be used for thumb treatment.
Mode of action:
Reliable immobilisation of the carpal and first carpo-metacar-
pal (CMC I) joints as well as the metacarpo-phalangeal (MCP
I) joint of the thumb. The anatomically correct shape of the
product ensures a comfortable, secure fit.
Indications:
Arthrosis/arthritis, distortions, injuries (trauma), instabilities
of the ligaments, postoperative
Contraindications:
Skin trauma or disease in the thumb or wrist area
Side Effects:
No side effects are as yet known for correct use.
Precautions:
Follow the advice of the professional who prescribed or
supplied the product. Consult your professional if discomfort
occurs. Store at room temperature, preferably in its original
packaging. For hygiene and performance reasons, do not re-
use the product for another patient. Any serious incident that
occurs in connection with the product must be reported to the
manufacturer and to the competent authority of the Member
State in which the user and/or patient are/is domiciled.
Fitting instructions:
1. Open the touch-and-close fastener on the support.
2. Place the thumb fully into the orthosis.
3. Wrap the wrist strap around your wrist joint and secure.
4. Wrap the thumb strap around your thumb and secure.
The orthosis should lend firm support without cutting in.
