power tool is used for other applications, with different ap-
plication tools or is poorly maintained, the vibration level
and noise emission value may differ. This may significantly
increase the vibration and noise emissions over the total
working period.
To estimate vibration and noise emissions accurately, the
times when the tool is switched off or when it is running but
not actually being used should also be taken into account.
This may significantly reduce vibration and noise emissions
over the total working period.
Implement additional safety measures to protect the oper-
ator from the effects of vibration, such as servicing the
power tool and application tools, keeping their hands warm,
and organising workflows correctly.

Starting Operation

Before any work on the machine (e. g. maintenance,
u
changing the tool, etc.) as well as during its transport
and storage, lock the On/Off switch in the off position.
Danger of injury when accidentally actuating the On/Off
switch.

Battery Charging (see figure B)

Do not use any other charger. The supplied charger is
u
matched to the lithium-ion battery that is fitted in your
power tool.
Pay attention to the mains voltage. The voltage of the
u
power source must match the voltage specified on the
rating plate of the charger.
The voltage range of the charger is between
u
100−240 V. Ensure that the plug matches the outlet.
Note: The battery is supplied partially charged. To ensure
full battery capacity, completely charge the battery in the
battery charger before using for the first time.
The lithium-ion battery can be charged at any time without
reducing its service life. Interrupting the charging procedure
does not damage the battery.
Bosch Power Tools
The "Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)" protects the lithium-
ion battery against deep discharging. When the battery is
discharged, the machine is switched off by means of a pro-
tective circuit: The garden product no longer operates.
Do not continue to press the On/Off switch after an auto-
matic shut-off of the machine. The battery can be dam-
aged.
Plug the mains plug of the battery charger into a socket out-
let and the charger plug into the socket on the rear side of
the handle (in one way only).
The charging procedure starts as soon as the charger plug of
the charger is inserted into the socket.
The battery charge indicator indicates the charging pro-
gress. The indicator flashes green during the charging pro-
cess. When the battery is fully charged, the battery charge
indicator is continuously lit green.
During the charging process, the handle of the power tool

will become warm. This is normal.

when changing the saw blade. There is risk of injury
from unintentionally pressing the on/off switch.
While replacing the saw blade, ensure that the saw
u
blade receptacle is free of material residue, e.g. wood
or metal chips.
When sawing lightweight materials, take into account
u
the statutory provisions and recommendations of the
material manufacturers.
While sawing, hold the machine firmly with one hand
u
by the handle.
While sawing, do not touch the hook, the blade or the
u
air vents.
The saw blade can become very hot during sawing. Al-
u
low it to cool down before touching.

Selecting the saw blade

Use only saw blades suitable for the material being worked.
An overview of recommended saw blades can be found at
the end of these operating instructions. Do not use other
blades than recommended.
Use a narrow saw blade when sawing tight curves.
