Larch wood is valued for being solid, waterproof and durable, the best way to extend the
lifespan of your wooden outdoor furniture is by cleaning it regularly. Clean with a mild
cleaner, afterwards wipe with a clean and dry cloth.
If possible, store indoors in a cool and dry place. When the furniture is stored outside,
put it under a waterproof cover. After a rain or snowfall, wipe off excess water or snow
from flat surfaces. Allow air to circulate to avoid condensation.
Wood can change its colour due to sun exposure, as it is extremely photosensitive. UV-light
changes the colour of wood regardless of its type, therefore Siberian larch may become
lighter and more greyish.
Due to the high tar and resin content in Siberian Larch, no painting, chemical treatments or
impregnation are recommended, as they will not to be absorbed.
Larch wood should be oiled at least once a year, depending on a weather condition in
your region. Use only natural oils to maintain the wooden surface, e.g. linseed oil. We do
not recommend you to use pigmented finish.
How to oil wood surfaces:
1. Before you begin, choose a place in the shade for cleaning and oiling to avoid
direct sunlight.
2. Clean the surfaces with a soft material dampened in water (if you have a new
product use just water) and a mild cleaner, afterwards wipe with a clean and dry
cloth.
3. If wood fibres rise after cleaning, sand the surface with fine-grade sandpaper.
4. Apply a thin coat of oil to the furniture using a brush or sponge in the direction
of the grain.
5. Let it dry for a day and wipe off any excess with a dry cloth.
6. Wash your hands with soap and water.
