Intended use
The mains adapter is used as a potential-free DC-mains supply to operate devices with a low-
voltage consumption. It is connected via 4mm safety sockets. The output voltage and output
amperage can be adjusted depending on the model. The output of the direct current (DC) is gal-
vanically isolated and has a safety separation against the mains voltage.
The device should only be connected to and operated on an earthed socket (Schuko socket) of
the public AC power supply.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves the
risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.
The product must not be modified or converted, and the casing must not be opened.
Operation in a dump location or outdoors or under ambient environment conditions is not per-
mitted.
Unfavourable ambient conditions are:
- Wet conditions or high air humidity
- Dust and flammable gases, vapours or solvent,
- Thunderstorms or similar conditions such as strong electrostatic fields etc.
Always observe the safety notes included in these operating instructions.
This quick guide explains safety measures to make working with the device as safe as possible.
The individual functions of the device are described in more detail in the enclosed operating
manual.
Safety and Hazard Notices
Please read the entire operating instructions before using the product for the
first time; they contain important information regarding the correct operation.
• The guarantee is rendered invalid when damage occurs as a result of non-compliance with the
operating instructions! Liability for any and all consequential damage is excluded!
• We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use or
non-compliance with the safety instructions! The warranty is voided in these cases.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible because of
safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The construction of the product corresponds to protection class 1. Only a correct earthed
mains socket of the public power supply should be used.
• Devices operated using the mains voltage must be kept out of the reach of children. Be thus
especially careful when children are around.
• When mulitple outputs are combined perilous voltages can occur. Only use contact-protected
safety-measuring lines for voltages of >42 V/AC or >60 V/DC.
• Take particular care when dealing with voltages exceeding 25V AC or 35V DC! Even at such
voltages you can receive a life-threatening electric shock when you come into contact with
electric wires.
• The mains adapter will heat up during operation; Ensure appropriate ventilation. Do not cover
the ventilation apertures of the device!
• Do not leave mains power supplies and the connected consumers in operation unattended.
• Exclusively use fuses of the type and rated current specified. It is absolutely prohibited to use
repaired fuses.
• Avoid the use of uninsulated metallic cables. There is the danger of short circuit or fire.
• Do not use the device shortly before or after a thunderstorm (lightning! / high-energy overvol-
tages!). Make sure that your hands, shoes, clothing, the floor, the device and/or measuring
lines, the circuits and also parts of it are always dry.
• Do not use the product within rooms or in bad ambient conditions where flammable gases,
vapours or explosive dust may be present or are present.

• Avoid operation near:
- strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields
- transmitter aerials or HF generators,
- This can affect the control.
• Only use measuring lines or equipment harmonised with the specifications of this device.
°
Overvoltages raise the danger of fire.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect the device
immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation. It can be assumed that safe opera-
tion is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer works
- the unit was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
- if it has been subjected to considerable stress in transit.
• Never switch the device on immediately after having taken it from a cold to a warm environ-
ment. Condensation that forms might destroy your device. Allow the device to reach room tem-
perature before switching it on.
• Never disassemble the product! There is a risk of a fatal electric shock. Capacitors inside the
device may still be charged, even if the device has been disconnected from all voltage sources.
• Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around since this may become a dange-
rous toy for children.
• The product is only suited for dry indoor rooms (not bathrooms or similar damp interiors). The
device must not get wet or damp. There is a risk of a fatal electric shock.
• On industrial sites the accident prevention regulations of the association of the industrial wor-
kers' society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
• In schools and training centres as well as at hobby and DIY workshops, the use of power packs
must be supervised by adequately trained personnel in a responsible manner.
• Power units are not designed for application to human beings or animals.
• If you have doubts about how the equipment should operate or about how to safely connect it,
consult a trained technician.
• Handle the product with care. It can be damaged through impact, blows, or accidental drop,
even from a low height.
• Please observe the provided detailed operating instructions as well as the safety instructions
in the operating manuals of the connected devices.
This device left the manufacture's factory in a safe and perfect condition.
We kindly request the user to observe the safety instructions and warnings contained in the
enclosed operating instructions to preserve this condition and to ensure safe operation. Please
observe the following symbols:
A triangle containing an exclamation mark indicates important information in these
operating instructions which is to be observed without fail.
The triangle containing a lightning symbol warns of danger of an electric shock or of
the impairment of the electrical safety of the device.
The „hand" symbol is used to indicate where specific hints and information on hand-
ling should be given.
This product has been CE-tested and meets the necessary European guidelines.
Warning! This is a class A device. It can cause radio interferences in the living area; in
this case, it can be demanded from the operator that he carries out appropriate mea-
sures.
Only to be used in dry indoor areas.
Earth conductor, protection class 1. This screw/connector must not be loosened.
Earth potential
Regularly check the technical safety of the instrument and measuring lines, e.g.
check for damage to the housing or pinching etc.
Never operate the device when it is open! !RISK OF FATAL INJURY!
Unpacking
Check all parts for completeness and damage after unpacking.
Damaged parts must not be used for safety reasons. In case of any damage con-
tact our customer service.
