Connection and start-up
• Switch off the Smartphone/Tablet.
If you want to connect devices with a high energy consumption (e.g. 6.35 cm-/2.5" hard
drive without independent power supply), an external power adapter must be used. It is
not included and must be ordered separately.
If you only connect a common USB keyboard/mouse or USB stick and read/write on
memory cards, a power adapter is not necessary.
However, the operating duration of the Smartphone/Tablet will be shorter due to the
energy consumption of these devices.
• Connect the devices with the appropriate socket of your Smartphone/Tablet using the flat con-
nection plug. Do not use force.
We recommend that the Smartphone/Tablet as well as the hub are lying on a table so
that mechanical forces will not impact the plug and the socket.
Otherwise, not only could the plug slide out of the socket of the Smartphone/Tablet but
the Smartphone/Tablet might also be damaged, loss of warranty!
• Switch the Smartphone/Tablet on. The power LED on the hub lights up.
• Drivers or apps are not necessary to run the hub as they are components of the Android operat-
ing system.
The connection of a USB keyboard/mouse or USB stick, or the use of memory cards usually
does not require any drivers.
