Cleaning and Storage
CAUTION!
❐ Danger of burns from hot device parts! Allow the device and the accessories to cool
down before any cleaning.
❐ Danger to life from electric shock! Remove the mains plug from the plug socket before
doing any cleaning. Never immerse the device, the mains cable or plug in water. Never put
the device and its component parts in the dishwasher.
❐ Do not spray cleaning agents directly onto the device. Do not use any glass cleaners.
❐ Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents, rough sponges or knives to clean the de-
vice. These can damage the surface.
•
Remove all food residues from the grill plate or pizza pan after each use. Then rinse the plate/
pan with detergent and warm water.
•
If necessary, clean the device housing and the heating elements with a damp cloth/sponge and
then wipe down the surfaces so that they are dry.
•
If the crumb collection tray is full, pull it out of the back of the device. Remove any food
residues and clean it with a detergent and warm water.
•
Allow all parts to dry completely before you insert them back into the device.
•
Store the device out of the reach of children and animals. Keep it in a dry, frost-free place
which is protected from direct sunlight.
Troubleshooting
If the device is not working properly, please check fi rst of all whether you are able to rectify a
problem yourself. Otherwise you should contact the customer service department. Do not at-
tempt to repair a defective device yourself!

Possible cause/solution
•
Is the mains plug correctly inserted into the socket?
•
Is the plug socket defective? Try another plug socket.
•
Check the fuse of your mains connection.
•
Is the On/Off switch in the OFF position?
•
Is the temperature controller at the MIN position?
•
When the device is fi rst used: Any coating residues that may
remain may result in a small amount of odour or smoke
development. This is normal. Allow the device to heat up for
about 15 minutes (see the "Use" chapter). During this time,
make sure the room is well ventilated, e.g. with wide-open
windows!
•
The device has already been used: Is the crumb collection
tray full or are the heating elements dirty? Follow the in-
structions in the "Cleaning and Storage" chapter.
