1. General
Flamco Falx is an universal PV panel mounting system for flat roofs.
Install the product in accordance with the installation instructions provided by Flamco. Read these
instructions carefully before commencing installation. After installation, hand over all documenta-
tion, including the ballast calculation, to the end user of the installation.
2. Instructions
Please observe the Instructions below. If these Instructions are not followed, the warranty may be
invalidated. In this case, always contact your supplier.
2.1
General
•
The installation must be carried out by qualified personnel using the original Flamco Falx parts.
•
Do not use any non-specified installation materials.
•
Use the individual parts as instructed only.
•
The range of the ambient temperature is - 30 °C to +90 °C.
•
Observe local legislation and guidelines.
•
Observe the static snow load and wind load requirements.
2.2
Installation
•
The installer is responsible for the correct installation.
•
Check in advance that the structure can bear the weight of the system. Mount the system on
an approved or suitable structure and base.
•
The product can be installed within a temperature range of 0 °C to +40 °C.
•
Install the system only on a flat, clean and smooth surface with a maximum 5° pitch.
* Always check that the suggested rail position suits the PV panel before installing the whole
field! Due to external factors (such as roof surface irregularities), the rail position may need to
be located one increment adjacent to the suggested position (fig. A5).
•
For landscape installation the panel must be secured at each of the four corners with a clip in
the clip mounting points within the mounting blocks. The intermediate clips should at least be
fitted in alternate mounting points (fig. CL).
For portrait installation the panel must be secured with clips in all clip mounting points of the
mounting blocks (fig. CP).
•
The ballast calculator is an application. The ballast must meet the prescribed weights
(see www.flamcofalx.com).
•
Maximum dimensions of a single coupled installation: 100 x 100 metres.
•
Always follow the installation instructions and user manual of the panel manufacturer when
installing the panels.
2.3
Maintenance
The system must be inspected annually to check compliance with the installation instructions.
Such inspection should verify that:
•
No ballast has been removed or displaced.
•
All components and connections are in good order and the positioning of the equipment is
same as the original design.
It is recommended that the installation be inspected following a storm or earthquake.
3. Disposal
Observe local regulations for disposing of the various components.
