4. Allow the waffle maker to preheat on setting no.10 (max.) until the ready to cook light
switches off in approximately 5 min. (upper lid must be closed). Next turn the
temperature control dial anti clockwise to the desired setting. The indicator light will
illuminate. When making your first waffle we suggest you use setting 6.
•
For a dark crisp waffle turn dial clockwise, and select a setting between 8 and 10.
•
For a lighter softer waffle turn the dial anti clockwise, and select a setting between
2 and 6.
5. Open the lid and place approximately half a cup of butter onto the middle of the lower
waffle plate and spread batter evenly over the plate with a spatula. Be careful not
overfill as this will cause the mixture to overflow over the sides of the unit.
6. Lower the lid and hold the two handles. Allow the waffle to cook for 2 1/2 to 3 min
(depending on desired brownness).
7. Remove the waffle with a plastic spatula. Do not use metal utensils as this may
damage the non-stick coating.
8. Before making the next waffle ensure that the ready to cook light has gone out. This
means that the unit has now reached the correct temperature and is ready for use.
9. Periodic greasing of waffle plates will be required.
10. The baking cycle depends on the mixture and setting of the temperature control dial.
IMPORTANT: ALL THE TIME LID MUST BE CLOSED WHEN COOKING.
HINTS FOR TASTY WAFFLES
1. Do not over mix waffle batter. If you beat egg whites separately and add them into the
batter it will produce a lighter, crispy waffle.
2. Let the waffles fully bake before removing them from the waffle maker.
3. Do not open the unit during the first minutes of baking or the waffle will separate.
4. Extra crisp waffles are created by baking waffles longer by allowing them to sit in the
opened unit a few extra seconds after baking.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR WAFFLE MAKER
• There is no need to take your waffle maker apart for cleaning. Simply brush grooves to
remove excess butter, margarine and crumbs. Never use water, cleanser or even cleansers on
hot-plates.
• Do not use steel wool or scouring pads for the non-stick surfaces. Remove stubborn stains
with a plastic mesh puff or pad. For best results use only products that are safe for cleaning
non-stick surfaces. Clean the hot-plates with a damp cloth after each use to prevent staining
and sticking from a build up of food or oil.
• To clean exterior handles and other parts use only a damp cloth or spray cleaner.
USING YOUR WAFFLE MAKER FOR THE FIRST TIME
There is no need to make any special preparations before you use your Waffle Maker for the
first time. But remember:
1. It is normal for a new Waffle Maker to smoke for a short while at the first time it heated.
2. Discard the first two waffles you bake on the new hot-plates.
3. Lightly brush hot-plates with butter, margarine, fat and/or vegetable cooking oil.
NEVER IMMERSE APPLIANCE INTO WATER.
