Faults table
When you have any doubts about whether your appliance is working properly you should not
immediately assume that it is defective. We recommend that you should in any case check the
points in the following table.
Symptom
The appliance emits a slight
odour when used for the first
time.
The appliance does nothing;
the lighting does not come
on.
Temperature inside the
appliance too high or too low.
The alarm indicator flashes.
Water runs from the
refrigerator.
Appliance makes a noise.

Possible cause
New appliance.
Plug not in socket.
Thermostat off.
Thermostat setting incorrect.
The door seals are dirty or the
seals are damaged.
The appliance is switched on
for the first time.
The door has been opened
for too long or too frequently.
The door does not seal
properly.
Too much fresh food has
been put in at the same time.
The appliance has been
switched on again (for
example after a lengthy
power failure).
Defrost water drain clogged.
Incorrect positioning of food
in the appliance.
There is an object against the
appliance.
Solution
This is normal and disappears
when the appliance starts
cooling.
Insert the plug in the socket.
Adjust the thermostat to the
correct setting.
Adjust the thermostat
properly.
Clean the door seals. Call
the service centre if the door
seals are damaged.
If after 24 hours the alarm
indicator still flashes, contact
the service department.
Clean defrost water drain (see
"Defrosting the appliance").
Place foods in the proper
manner in the appliance.
Remove the object.
