Operation
a) Insert batteries
The voltage tester is powered by two type AAA batteries (included).
• Gently push the locking tab (7) down, and simultaneously remove the battery lid (6).
• Insert the two type AAA batteries with correct polarity (+/-) into the battery compartment, as
shown on the product.
• Replace the battery lid as shown in the figure below.
b) Voltage Test
Warning! Test on known live circuit before each use.
• Press the
On/Off button (1) briefly to switch the voltage tester on. The voltage tester
beeps once, and the indicator LED (2) lights green and the torch (4) turns on. The voltage
tester is now ready for use.
• Before each use, perform a function test of the voltage tester.
- Bring the tip (3) of the voltage tester close to a known live AC voltage.
- If the voltage tester works, the indicator LED turns red from green, and the voltage tester
beeps rapidly (if enabled).
- If the voltage tester malfunctions, the indicator LED remains green and does not light red.
Do not use the voltage tester for detection if it malfunctions.
• Make sure the voltage tester works after the function test. Then bring the tip of the voltage
tester as close as possible to a test object (e.g. a cable and wall outlet).
• If an AC voltage within the detection range (50 to 1000 V) is detected, the indicator LED
turns red from green, and the voltage tester beeps rapidly (if enabled).
• If an AC voltage within the detection range (50 to 1000 V) is not detected, the indicator LED
remains green, and the voltage tester does not beep (if enabled).
• To switch the voltage tester off, press the
twice, and both the indicator LED and the torch turn off.
To conserve battery life, the voltage tester automatically powers off after five minutes
of inactivity.
c) Deactivate Beeping Function
You can deactivate the beeping which is emitted when an AC voltage is detected.
• When the voltage tester is on or off, press and hold the
until the indicator LED flashes. The beeping function is deactivated.
• When the voltage tester is on, turn the beeping function back on by holding down the
On/Off button for two seconds until the indicator LED flashes. Or simply switch the voltage
tester off.
Holding down the
button for over five seconds is an invalid operation. The voltage
tester will beep twice and switch off.
d) Low Battery Indication
• If the battery power is reduced to some level, the torch does not turn on after the voltage
tester is switched on. In this case, the voltage tester can continue to work without the torch
on until the battery power is too low for operation.
• If the battery power is too low for reliable operation, the green indicator LED does not turn
on after the voltage tester is switched on. In this case, replace the batteries. See section "
a). Inserting batteries".
Care and Cleaning
• Do not submerge the product in water or other liquids.
• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as
they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
• Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.
On/Off button briefly. The voltage tester beeps
On/Off button for two seconds
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the
household waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance
with applicable regulatory guidelines.
Remove any inserted batteries and dispose of them separately from the product.
b) Batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used
batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Contaminated batteries are labeled with this symbol to indicate that disposal in the
domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals involved are:
Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (name on batteries, e.g. below the trash
icon on the left).
Used batteries can be returned to collection points in your municipality, our stores or wherever
batteries are sold.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
